| Classical Revival Cocktail Lounge by McMillen Interior Design (@mcmilleninc)

Located in the Hudson Valley on a 120-acre estate is this Classical Revival ‘Dream Mansion.’ Designed with authentic details and the desire to pay tribute to neoclassical homes of the past, this stately residence is a product of the 21st century that could very easily pass for an 1850s relic.

The clients— who have spent their lives building an impressive collection of antique English furniture and art— were searching for a home that could adequately showcase their pieces. The cocktail lounge, featured above, was inspired by the distinguished social clubs of the 18th and 19th centuries.

The room’s ancient Greek frieze pattern, intricate molding, and wainscoting are all painted in Benjamin Moore’s brilliant high-gloss shade of Avocado Green. Elaborate gilt frames of various sizes featuring European oil paintings hang above a set of four lounge chairs upholstered in a rosy tartan from Pindler. The room was designed by Lynne Stair from McMillen Inc.— America’s oldest design firm.

Join Ann Pyne, President of McMillen, Inc. and Elizabeth Pyne Singer at Thomasville Antiques Show Saturday morning lecture as they take us on a journey through 100 years of McMillen. This dynamic mother/daughter duo will share their insights and attendees will gain valuable knowledge and inspiration.

A book signing of Ann’s latest book, 100 Years of Decorating, will take place at the book nook following the lecture.
