Some people become part of your story simply because they gave you a chance when you needed one. For me, @marijames7 Mari James is one of those people. In 2017, I walked into the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Iruekpen, Edo State, as a young man with a dream. I had never met Mr. Mari James before, but I asked to see him. He was the Head of Programmes at the time. I introduced myself as an MC and comedian and told him I wanted to partner with the station to produce a programme. I was young, ambitious, and looking for an opportunity to prove myself. And he gave me that opportunity! He believed in me and gave me a platform. He may not have realised just how much that decision would mean to me, but it became a significant part of my broadcasting journey. Today, I have worked in Edo State, Abuja, and Gombe State. Now, I am in Lagos, working with Royal Roots Communication as an OAP on R2 107.1 FM Lagos and R2 TV. Whenever I reflect on this journey, I remember that it began with someone who was willing to give a young man a chance. Sir, you saw the seed before it became a tree. You gave me an opportunity before the journey ahead became clear. And I will never take that for granted. I have wanted to tell this story publicly for a while, and what better day to do so than your birthday? Mr. Mari James, thank you for believing in me. Thank you for opening that door. Thank you for being part of a story I am still writing. My prayer is that God will bless you with good health, renewed strength, wisdom, peace, and greater accomplishments. May the seeds you have planted in the lives of others continue to flourish, and may you reap the beautiful rewards of your kindness and labour. Sir, if I ever get the opportunity to sit with you again, I hope to look you in the eyes and say: “That young man who walked into your office in 2017 is still here, still growing, still working, and still grateful that you gave him a chance.” Happy birthday, sir! You will always have a special place in my story. ❤️🙏🏽🎉 With deep respect and gratitude, Mc Osazee #aau #ekpoma #nta #fypシ #happybirthday by @mcosazee
Today, I celebrate an amazing broadcaster, a wonderful colleague, and an even more beautiful soul, my on-air buddy, @_theabisolaesan . ❤️🎉 Abi, I genuinely want to say thank you. Thank you for helping me settle into the Lagos airwaves much faster than I probably would have on my own. Thank you for making work feel seamless, for always bringing your very best to the team, and for being someone who makes the studio feel lighter, even on the days when the work gets intense. Thank you for not just hearing our concerns, but for being deliberate about understanding them, speaking up about them, and, most importantly, being willing to weather the storms with us. Your willingness to seek tangible solutions and contribute meaningfully to the team is something I truly appreciate. Beyond the microphone and the work, I celebrate you today. My prayer for you is that the joy of the Lord will overwhelm you. May you continually experience God's comfort, God's goodness, God's peace and His unfailing love. May He lead you forth by His love and order your steps into places of purpose, fulfilment and greater impact. May this new chapter bring you beautiful surprises, answered prayers, divine connections and undeniable evidence of God's faithfulness. I pray that wherever life takes you, you will never lose the joy, courage and grace that make you who you are. I’m grateful our paths crossed, grateful to share the airwaves with you, and grateful for all the laughter, conversations, teamwork and beautiful chaos that comes with doing this thing we love. 😂🎙️ Happy birthday, Abisola! 🥳❤️ May this new year of your life be abundantly blessed, deeply fulfilling and completely soaked in God's goodness. Keep shining. Keep giving your best. Keep being amazing. Happy birthday, my on-air buddy! 🎂🎙️❤️ #happybirthday #tbt #fyp by @mcosazee
🇳🇬 HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY, NIGERIA! 🇳🇬 Today, we celebrate more than a date on the calendar. We celebrate the Nigerian spirit; our resilience, creativity, courage, diversity and unshakable hope. Nigeria may not be where we want her to be yet, but Nigeria is still a land of possibilities. And her future is not built by wishing for better days; it is built by people who choose to become better citizens, better leaders, better neighbours and better contributors. May we never become too frustrated to hope, too disappointed to serve, or too divided to remember that we belong to one nation. The Nigeria we dream of will require all of us. So, wherever you are and whatever your contribution may be, keep building. Keep creating. Keep believing. Keep doing your part. One day, the story we tell about Nigeria will be different—and may we be among those who helped write that story. Happy Independence Day, Nigeria. 🇳🇬💚 Nigeria is still becoming. And so are we. #HappyIndependenceDay #NigeriaAt66 #IndependenceDay #Nigeria #fyp by @mcosazee
