“I’ll be back next summer, I’ll survive til then…” ⚡️🔱

Surely a month later isn’t too late for a TLT post… right guys…. (My bad I got busy oops)

Ok sap incoming

TLT was such an amazing show process to be apart of. To have finally directed this show after 2 rejections of the rights by concord is a dream come true. And I’m so happy to have done it with such an amazing cast and crew. All of y’all made this experience so wonderful & fun & whimsical— and it’s genuinely been one of my favorite shows to date.

To everyone who came to see it, I hope you all loved this show as much as my cast, crew and I loved to create it. And thank you all for helping pretty much sell out the house every show, it truly was something I never thought I’d see, but I’m so happy I have.

Thank you all again, and I hope to see you guys very soon doing even more Roguish Shows 🩷 taken in Camp Half-Blood by @mcp.hammer

“I continued forward. And I wanted to write poetry. And I didn’t know how. And the strangest part of all was that I wrote some anyway…”

It is incredibly hard to put into words how much R&J&TFM has meant to me as a process, a show, and a story. Ever since I’ve wanted to direct shows, I’ve known that directing one my sister wrote was the goal, and to say I’ve finally checked that box off my list is one of the most incredible things I could possibly say. I’ve felt so incredibly connected with this show since I first fully read it back in my junior year of high school. It’s genuinely such a beautiful piece about creation, living, and loving, and I hope everyone walked away from this with just as much passion for love and art as these characters have.

There was no better cast and crew I could’ve shared this experience with than the one I was gifted. To all of you, thank you, thank you for running with my silly ideas, for trusting me, for laughing with me, and most of all— for loving this show in the same way I have. You all are such incredible performers and people and I truly do hope you all walk away from this experience loving and honoring yourself just a bit more.

And of course, to my sister @maura.pelczynski, thank you for writing this piece, for letting me direct and produce it, and for most of all, being my push to make art. Your love of everything you make and do reminds me over and over just how beautiful creating is, and how we all should love just a bit more. It’s very hard to put into words how much your passion has meant for me, but I hope this was enough.

“He could make you see the way the world could be, in spite of the way that it is…” 🌹

———————————————

Welp time for another sappy post ig….

Hadestown has always meant so so much to me, so to get to say that I got to direct it— with such a talented cast too, is insane— and I could never have imagined how beautiful it turned out.

A year ago, when I first founded Roguish— I could never imagine having a cast of this size, or selling over 200 tickets, or even just being able to do a show like this. So to get to see how much my group has grown, is truly life changing, and it’s so hard for me to put into words how much Hadestown specifically has meant to me as a process.

To my entire cast & crew, thank you for trusting me to be your director— for taking my ideas and running with them, and for most of all— making us see the way the world could be. I love you all infinitely, and I truly hope to see you all again at another roguish show in the future.

———————————

I have so many feelings I can’t put into words about how amazing this year has been for me and theater- to get nominated again for my choreo is such a gift and I’m eternally grateful to everyone who made this possible. Thank you all so much for everything you’ve given to me these past four years, I’ll miss you all (and your inability to clap on beat) dearly. 🩷 taken in The Cappies by @mcp.hammer

“And the World will keep on spinning with no ending or beginning” 🌈

———————————

Man, RTC… what a show. To be honest, after TGWDLM I wasn’t sure if I was going to direct another show— but I’m so happy to say I did, because these casts and crew are some of the most talented and kindest people I’ve ever met in my life.

Both casts (even those in the jawbreaker who did not get to perform) brought so much life into these characters, and I’m endlessly proud of all they’ve accomplished over these 5 months of crazy rehearsals.

This show itself has taught me so much about loving life and loving the experiences within it, i truly think it has changed me for the better, and I’m so glad to say that I got to direct it 🩷

I cant wait for what the summer has in store for Roguish Players, and I hope you all will join me on this crazy journey once again.

And thank you all for completing my rainbow 🫶 taken in Uranium City, Saskatchewan by @mcp.hammer

“You’ve gotta be LOUD” ✨

Over a decade ago my family took me to go see Matilda on the west end as a 5 year old. it was the first musical I ever saw— and was what made me fall in love with theater- never before had I seen kids only slightly older than me on a stage before, never before had I wanted to be on that stage as well as much as I did then.
A few months later- I performed the song “Naughty” in my schools talent show- making Matilda not only the first musical I ever saw, but the first musical that I performed a song from as well.

I remember nearly crying when I heard Matilda was announced as our musical for 2024, to get to say that I ended my Chantilly Musical career with the musical that started it all for me, truly meant so much, it’s hard to put into words.

And as for playing Mrs. Wormwood- I’m eternally grateful for this opportunity I was given. I’ve always been an in-your-face performer, so to get to play a role that was so embracing of that idea, really meant the world to me (even if she is the worst mother ever). Zinnia Wormwood, you will always be famous ✊

With all that said, I am so thankful for this cast and crew as a whole, and I’m very VERY proud of all the work we put into this show. You all truly revitalized my love for this show, and made me remember why it sparked such a burning flame in me to pursue this as my career. So thank you. Thank you all so much. taken in Crunchem Hall by @mcp.hammer

Holy crap???? It’s over???? Nuh uh!

But seriously, directing this show was a fucking insane journey, from going from a random idea I had (that I made out of spite) to a fully fledged show is just- fucking nuts guys.

Thank you to everyone who was in the cast, crew, or even if you just came out to see this show for shits and giggles, you all have made such an incredible piece of art that I never thought I’d be able to see through fruition.

To quote my mom (who is quoting Sunday in the Park with George): “We made a hat where there never was a hat.”

Thank you all for everything 💙 taken in Hatchet Field by @mcp.hammer

Well it’s official…. I never have to listen to Blow Gabriel Blow again!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏

————————-

Wow y’all, this has been a crazy journey. I may not have won anything, but to go from having only choreographed a crappy middle school production of the Lion King to being a cappie Nominee for my choreography is crazy. And I couldn’t have done it without every cast members hard work, so thank yall sm.

But I’d like to give a special shout-out to my absolute GOAT and my favorite cappie winner (sorry to everyone else j know who has won), Sam.

Sam you were such an incredible co-choreographer and an even more incredible dance partner, keep doing amazing things, and keep winning awards for how amazing you are, you are it up!!!

Congrats to all the nominees and everyone else who won! taken in Cappies of the National Capital Area by @mcp.hammer

Wtf SpongeBob is NAWT over :((((

No but seriously this show pains me so much to be over because it’s genuinely been one of my favorites at AFYP, and I’m so heartbroken it’s over because holy shit I am not ready to say goodbye to anyone.

Idk who I’m seeing in the fall, or if I’m even gonna be IN the fall, but no matter what, Im so happy to have performed with all of y’all for these past years, everyone at AFYP are my closest friends imagineable, and I love y’all to bits.

This is patchy the pirate, signing off for the last time….
