What’s the most memorable place you’ve ever stayed, eaten or experienced?

Not because it was luxurious, but because of the people behind it.

A few years ago I travelled to France to photograph a wellness retreat hosted by @andbreathewellbeing at and absolutely loved it.

Don’t get me wrong, the location was beautiful.

But what I really loved was getting to know the owner, hearing her story and capturing everything she’d created.

That’s the sort of work I love most.

The people behind the business.

The passion behind the experience.

I’d love to do more of it.

🎭 my debut play Butterfly is about to be staged by @phoenixbordon

🦋 it tells the story of Eleanor Glanville (1654-1709) - one of the first female lepidopterists - who discovered the Glanville fritillary. She was declared ‘deprived of her senses’ for her love of butterflies and her will was overturned on the grounds of insanity. We meet her in the present day, on the brink of a breakthrough…

We’re rob-rob-robbing tonight!”

I still maintain that Mr Gum & The Biscuit Billionaire is the funniest kids’ book ever written. And as Colt shouted “Gimme some entrails!” at his friends across the playground, I knew I was doing parenting right.

Great to welcome Darren and Barry from Pivale, a local business, along with Sally from the Phoenix Centre in Bordon, Jon from the NHS (who is also a senior member of Helping Hounds in Hampshire), and Sally from Petersfield, who served an incredible 24 years in the British Army.

It was really interesting to hear everyone’s experiences. I’ve met Darren and Barry before at their office in Bordon and have always been a big supporter of local businesses. Darren spoke about how tough things have been business wise, but it was encouraging to hear that momentum is building again this year.

Sally also shared her journey and life in the Army... always fascinating to listen to. by @mcsalface

Imagine being asked to photograph a wonderful French retreat - I did and it was THE BEST!

I met @cliowood through an amazing networking group called @doingitforthekids_

She told me about the retreats she hosted @andbreathewellbeing in her beautiful home in Limoges, France @lajugie.co.uk and we connected through the group and discussed me coming over to photograph her peri-menopause/menopause fitness retreat she would be hosting.

I have always wanted to be involved in travel/retreat photography and this trip far exceeded any expectations I had.

The days were filled with the most amazing food cooked by Clio herself, fitness classes from the fabulous @carolinebraggpt and all the great chat with the lovely ladies who attended. It was so lovely to spend time with you all x

I had the most wonderful 3 days despite the rain and came home feeling energised and full of wholesome food and energy from the beautiful people I met.

Thank you whole heartedly to Clio for allowing me to fly out and capture the true feeling of an amazing retreat.
