☘️ Happy St. Patrick’s Day Weekend, Marion County!

What an incredible day celebrating Irish pride with our community! 🎉🍀 The streets were filled with energy, laughter, and a sea of green as thousands came out to enjoy the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. From festive floats to lively music, it was a perfect way to come together and celebrate.

This holiday season, we are reminded of the enduring bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood in law enforcement. We extend our deepest gratitude to the Silicon Valley FOP in California for their thoughtful gesture of sending an ornament in honor of our fallen Deputy John Durm.

Deputy Durm, who served the Marion County Sheriff’s Office with dedication and distinction for 38 years, was tragically killed in the line of duty on July 10, 2023. His loss is felt deeply by our agency and our community.

In a touching moment of remembrance and unity, Deputy Terrance French, newly appointed to the Homeland Security Division and President of his ILEA Class, placed the ornament on our tree. This act symbolizes not only the legacy Deputy Durm leaves behind but also the resilience and commitment of those who continue to serve.

As we gather during this season of reflection and gratitude, we are reminded that the light of Deputy Durm’s service and sacrifice will never be extinguished. Thank you, Silicon Valley FOP, for helping us honor his memory and for reminding us that the law enforcement family transcends borders. 💙🤎💛 by @mcso_in

Yesterday, Deputy Class 99 Graduated and celebrated their accomplishments at the CJC with cake and fellowship with their peers and families. After completing their FTO period, these new Deputies will be headed to the Judicial Enforcement Division—Court Line.

Early in 2025, these gentlemen are headed to the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy!🎉

⭐️Major Bryce Wolf has been with the MCSO for 18 years. Recently, he became one of the MCSOs most recent Indiana Law Enforcement Academy graduates. Major Wolf was elected Vice President of his class, served as the Squad E Leader, and was ranked third overall in academics. Major Wolf also was the awardee of the Herman H Freed award, which honors the student who embodies integrity, loyalty, ethics, and attitude. We couldn’t think of someone more deserving of such an honor! Congratulations, Major Wolf! ⭐️ by @mcso_in

What an amazing day yesterday! ⭐️

In the morning, Indianapolis-Marion County Public Safety and Government leaders teamed up to kick off National Night Out with speeches and celebrations of our local crime fighters. Big thanks to IMPD for having us and to the Indiana Pacers for sharing their space with all of us.

In the afternoon, staff from the MCSO spent their time filling water balloons and carting supplies around the Community Justice Campus. Our friends from the Indianapolis Fire Department Station 3 dropped by to fill up our dunk tank.

After all of that, the real fun began. Corn, hot dogs, bouncy houses, face paint- the excitement was layered on thick. A big thank you to all of our sponsors (Keefe, Trinity Foods, Indianapolis-Marion County Building Authority, Kevin Murphy and Kasey Kendrick, Mr. Reggie and Mrs. Chantal Roney, SpartanNash, and Nishida Services) for supporting our event, and a huge thank you to the members of our community who came out and had so much fun with us. We are incredibly proud to announce the graduation of our eight dedicated Deputies from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Basic Session Class 232!
After sixteen weeks of rigorous training and commitment to excellence, these individuals have successfully completed their 600+ hours of training and are now equipped with the skills and knowledge to serve and protect our community.

Joey is an Australian Labradoodle and trained therapy dog who is owned by MCSO Reserve Lieutenant Jonathan Kempler. Joey has been assigned to the MCSO Peer Support Team.
