As I wrap up the end of 2025, I want to share that I’ve learned so much about myself. I’m incredibly thankful for everyone who showed me love, acknowledged me, and took the time to be apart of my life. This year, staying in touch wasn’t always easy due to my personal life, work, and relationships - but I’m grateful for every connection I made along the way. One of my New Year’s resolutions is to become more involved and present. Great memories were made, and I truly appreciate everyone I crossed paths with.

I also want to celebrate a few small wins I’m proud of this year; stepping out of my comfort zone, trying new things, and exploring more. Life truly has so much to offer. Another win? Finally curing my frizzy hair after struggling to find the right products. I can finally say I love my thick hair 💁🏽‍♀️ I’ve also grown a lot emotionally—being able to express my feelings more openly is a big change for me.

Professionally, I’m taking the initiative to step away from the teaching field and put my master’s degree in accounting to use soon. Teaching students has been a huge part of my life, and I know I’ve made an impact on them and on myself. Those students brought out the best in me and helped me grow. Shoutout to any former students reading this! You may not need math in the real world, but you do need strong problem-solving and logical skills.

Another toast this year goes to a family who helped me get back up when I fell the hardest. They welcomed me as their own, saw the best in me, and supported me through it all.

And most importantly, my baby Mona, my joy. She came into my life when I needed her most. Her joy and love reminded me of my value and importance, and she truly saved parts of me.

Philadelphia holds so much history, and so many great memories. It brings me back to when I was a child researching Benjamin Franklin for the first time. He believed in lifelong learning, asking questions, and improving the world around him. From inventing the lightning rod, to helping establish fire departments and public libraries, Benjamin Franklin legacy lives on.

Philadelphia has a lot to offer. Every time I visit, i leave with more perspective, appreciation, and more life.

In 2019, my first time exploring Philadelphia was with my grandmother and niece. I still remember it like it was yesterday. I told them everything I knew about Benjamin Franklin. Sharing those moments with the two most important people in my life was truly unforgettable.

13 years ago, I became an aunt but it felt more like becoming a part-time second mom. I was 16 figuring out life when this beautiful little girl entered the world and changed everything ✨

I was the happiest girl in the world, and I knew I wanted to become better for you. Being part of your life and watching you grow has changed me in the best ways. You’ve taught me love, patience, and purpose. Every year, I’m proud of the smart, funny, and strong young woman you’re becoming.

Today you’re officially a teenager, and I’m feeling all the emotions. I love you more than words. Happy 13th Birthday (on Friday the 13th muahaha) my mini-me 👯‍♀️💕
