The Ministry of District Administration & Home Affairs. Rebranding in progress.
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Yesterday, members of the Ministry of District Administration & Home Affairs (MDAHA) came together in solidarity ahead of the 26th Annual Silent Witness March, standing alongside our community to honour the lives lost to domestic abuse and to show support for survivors.

Dressed in shades of purple, our team proudly joined the collective call for greater awareness, compassion and action against domestic abuse.

The march serves as an important reminder that everyone deserves to feel safe, supported and heard, and that ending domestic abuse requires a shared commitment from all of us.

Together, we remember those we have lost, stand with those who have survived, and reaffirm our commitment to building safer communities across the Cayman Islands.

πŸ’œ With Survivors, Always.

πŸ›οΈ IN PARLIAMENT | Strengthening Public Protection

Protecting our communities requires a coordinated approach to offender management, rehabilitation and public safety.

During his parliamentary contribution on 5 October 2026, Hon. Nickolas DaCosta, Minister for District Administration & Home Affairs, addressed the proposed establishment of a confidential Sex Offender Register in the Cayman Islands.

The Minister highlighted the importance of strengthening existing offender management arrangements, including the Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangement (MAPPA), to improve risk management, accountability and inter-agency coordination.

Importantly, the proposed register would not be publicly accessible or searchable, but would instead serve as a confidential mechanism to support relevant authorities in managing risks and protecting the public.

πŸ”₯ DAY 2 OF 5: CHECK YOUR BATTERY! πŸ”‹

Lithium-ion batteries power many of the devices we use every dayβ€”but when they’re damaged or failing, they can become a serious fire hazard.

🚨 Know the warning signs:
β€’ Stop using batteries that are swollen, damaged, or deformed.
β€’ Watch for unusual heat, smells, or noises.
β€’ If a device begins to smoke, move away immediately and call 911.

⚠️ Don’t ignore the signs. A few seconds of awareness could prevent a battery fire and protect your home, family, and community.

Charge safely. Stay alert. Stay fire safe.

πŸ“ž IN AN EMERGENCY, CALL 911.
