I missed the pre-order for the special edition of The Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry and never thought I would be able to get a hold of a copy of this. I grew up with the miniseries television program being highly anticipated and watched every time it came on the television. I’ve never read this book and to be honest did not have an interest until recently. I had looked at some paperback copies and about the time that I thought I found or more so settled on a generic paperback I saw that @thebrokennbinding was doing a pre-order for a special edition. When I got a moment, I logged in to find that I had just missed the pre-order. Once again I was resigned to finding a paperback. Time got away, and I did not purchase that paper back and low, and behold the fate was with me to own this special edition. It was announced there were extras, and you cannot even imagine how lightning fast I logged in and purchased a copy for my own. She arrived today, and I rushed home from work to tear into that gorgeous, yellow and black box we all know so well. by @mdblond

She finally arrived!! The OwlCrate July 2026 Adult Fantasy!!! These Immortal Truths by @r.raeta Rachelle Raeta is in the house!! Hoping OwlCrate follows with the sequel as to round out this duology.
I love everything about this books designs. It gives off a renaissance vibe and the added bonuses of being actually signed by the author and a bonus chapter are brilliantly delightful!! Cannot wait to read this one!!

Something I rarely do…. Head to a bookstore alone, grab a drink and read!! Why not? I don’t know!! 🤷🏼‍♀️ But, I definitely should do this more often. Especially on a Sunday after a busy week and to reset for the next. I usually read in my favorite comfy chair at home. Where do you usually read and where would you like to head out to read?
And, can we get a shout out for one of my top authors ever!!!❤️#johngwynnemalice #read by @mdblond

Not just a Sunday stack, but just a progress note of where I am and creating my personal library. This used to be the spare bedroom, but I’ve cleared out the bed and other furniture. Instead of stacks of books along the floor I now have three bookshelves instead of two. Need two more as you can see. There’s still stacks on the floor. Goal is to have a loveseat that can pull out to a sleeper. Hopefully soon I can post that it is completed! Question for those of you who have several bookshelves full, how do you organize? For right now it’s all alphabetical order by authors last name. I’m contemplating keeping an area of shelves for my extra special editions. by @mdblond

I’ve never had editions of books so gorgeous as the ones from @thebrokennbinding and especially this set of The Faithful and the Fallen by @john_gwynne_author Each volume is so well crafted to hint at bits of the story. When first examining each one before reading, the art draws you in bringing so many questions mind. Now that I’m reading the story, the art brings it to life. Thank you for such beautiful books and thank you Mr. Gwynne for such a glorious tale!! Truth and courage!!

Not everyone knows that I am a second-degree black belt in Songham tae kwon do. I train and love every aspect of this martial arts. Besides sparring, I love training with my sword and competing. This year was my first full year competing as a black belt. I placed first in State in four categories, earned my blue letter uniform for district champion with my sword work and went onto third place at our world championship with my sword. As a woman in my 50s I feel like I’m on fire!🐉🔥 by @mdblond

Just arrived is the July 2026 OwlCrate YA box with goodies. I had seen the hints and guesses as to the book and can I say that OwlCrate has done it again and exceeded my expectations with “The River She Became” by @emilyvargabooks The artwork on both the desk jacket and hardcover are just brilliantly, gorgeous! The story itself sounds really interesting. Interesting and I can’t wait to dive into this book. And look at all those goodies! I was really wanting and had been looking for a set of coasters for my new library room. I am putting together and that journal is almost as beautiful as the book! Well done @owlcrate #ocfallvibes by @mdblond
