@omnihomestead Warm Springs Pools💦The United States Geological Survey has determined that these springs have a remarkably uniform rate of flow and temperature. Unaffected by changes in the seasons, the waters remain at a natural body temperature all year and flow at the astounding rate of 1,700,000 gallons per day. The waters have an unusually high level of mineral content and are so crystal clear a book can easily be read through them.💰Open to the public, but reservations are required$30 per person per 50-minute soak Tuesday through Friday$35 per person on Saturdays, Sundays, and major holidays.📍11 Bath Street, Warm Springs, Virginia, approximately five miles from The Omni Homestead Resort.Soaking EtiquetteThe Warm Springs Pools experience is relaxing and serene. ( this was done during a private session)HISTORYLocal legends say that Native Americans journeying through the valley discovered these magnificent crystal springs hundreds of years ago, and archaeological evidence seems to confirm that this area has been used by humans for at least 9,000 years.The first recorded survey of the area was done by Thomas and Andrew Lewis. Thomas Lewis and his son obtained 140 acres of the land, including the warm springs. Andrew Lewis was an early partner of Thomas Bullitt, who procured 300 acres, including the hot springs and built the first hotel in 1766 on the site of The Omni Homestead Resort.The original octagonal stone basin that held the water for bathing was built in 1761, establishing it as the first spa structure in America. Originally known as the Warm Springs Bath or the Great Bath, it was not covered by a bathhouse until the mid-1820s, at which point it was covered by a new octagonal frame building.A second structure, the Ladies’ Bathhouse, was built in the mid-1870s. The twenty-two-sided central portion stands on a circular stone wall that encloses the spring and pool. @wildsidetn is by far the coolest outdoor adventure park we have ever visited. The vibes, views and adventures were EPIC. The staff was funny but super helpful and informative. Life gets busy, between work, kids and everything in between. Sometimes finding time to unwind and reconnect with your spouse can be difficult. Making time for each other is not just important; I truly believe it’s mandatory. Recently, we escaped our busy lives and enjoyed a romantic getaway to @omnibedfordsprings . To say we enjoyed ourselves is an understatement. It was the perfect mix of relaxing, pampering, exploring, indulging, and reconnecting. The resort is stunning, the food was delicious, the ambiance was romantic, and the adventures were endless. by @mdfunfam

We finally checked out @littlebluemenu by Chick-fil-A in College Park, Maryland… and it’s definitely a unique experience!📍7242 Baltimore Ave, College Park, MD 20740This isn’t your typical Chick-fil-A! Along with all of your favorite classic Chick-fil-A menu items, they also offer exclusive rotating menu items you won’t find at a regular location.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our FAVORITE….🍔 BurgerThis was hands down the best thing we tried and we’d absolutely order it again.🍟 Fries🧅 Onion Rings🍕 Chick-fil-A Pizza🌶️ Buffalo WingsAnd so much more !! Our honest take? The burger was incredible and completely lived up to the hype! 🍔❤️ Unfortunately, the buffalo wings just weren’t our favorite, but everyone has different tastes, so you may feel differently!One of the coolest parts is that the bonus menu items change periodically, so there’s always a reason to come back and see what’s new—all while still being able to order your Chick-fil-A favorites.Have you been to Little Blue Menu yet? Details to help plan your visit.. Historical St. Mary’s City @historicstmarys 📍 18751 Hogaboom Ln St. Marys City, Maryland ( less than 2 hrs south of Annapolis & Washington D.C, took us 2 1/2 hrs from Carroll County) ⏰10 am to 4 pm Wednesday to Saturday*closed Monday and Sunday Closed in winter from December to March. 🚽Clean public restrooms- no portable restrooms! 💰Adults $15$13 Senior (60+) $10 Youth (6-18)Free Child(5 & under)♿️ Most exhibits met ADA requirements a few do have paved mulch paths. 🚶🏾‍♂️1 mile loop of the town plus two locations to visit that are a short drive from the visitor center. ( Driving sites are Godiah Spray Tobacco Plantation and The Inn at Brome Howard) I mention these because we looked for the Inn and couldn’t find it but later was informed it’s a further drive past the plantation. ⛪️ 10 exhibits that take you back to the 17th Century and life of the 1st English settlers in Maryland. ⚓️ Unfortunately during our visit the Maryland Dove ( replica of the ship that brought settlers to Maryland) was not home BUT she is now & you can climb aboard when visiting. by @mdfunfam

( you can purchase one there)🌻Wildflowers and sunflowers are blooming now. Their largest garden peaks late September. They are a small pick your own garden located on their families land. “ We are a quaint little farm to get some flowers and take a few selfies! We aren’t the big huge field of sunflowers, we are a cutting garden to get bouquets. Some people see our pictures posted and think the garden looks like that all the time, our flowers come and go but we try and keep it fresh. Interstate 81 stretches from NY to TN. We took I-81 from Maryland all the way to southern West Virginia. To help break up the trip, we obviously made pit stops @SHEETZ for fuel, snacks, gas, and even a toothbrush because one of my “little ones” forgot to pack theirs. Looking for something fun to do in ocean city Maryland that won’t break the bank?The hike to the rackliffe_house :It’s an easy path with many different elements. Behind the Assateague Island National shore visiting center are hiking trails. They are well marked and you will see signs leading you to the Rackliffe house. We only walked from the parking lot of the visiting center 📍11800 Marsh View Lane Berlin, MD 21811 to the Rackliffe house and back. The trail continues past the house. The majority of the trail is shaded. We recommend bringing bug spray since it is near water and through the woods. We did not have issues but have read it can be buggy during Warner weather. We past three deer along the way. There is easy access to the water and beautiful views of the Verrazano Bridge that leads to Assateague Island . * you do not have to pay to enter the park for the hike! rackliffe_house was not open when we visited even though it was during their open hours. According to their website Rackliffe House is open late-May thru October on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. for guided tours of the house and grounds and on Sundays from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.☎️ we suggest calling before a visit if you want to tour the home! ♿️ There is handicap parking at the home , you do not have to hike to access the home. 💰Admission to rackliffe_house Admission Fees include a docent guided tour and exhibitions:Adults 16 and older : $8.00Children 15 – and under*: FREEActive Military**: FREE “In its time, Rackliffe House has witnessed marauding Spanish galleons, Barbary pirate ships, and English men-of-war.
