What’s fall without a little woodturning? 🪵

Our woodturning studio reopens for fall classes this November, bringing back the hum of the lathe, the scent of fresh-cut wood, and the satisfaction of turning raw material into something of your own. From bowls to pots, you’ll learn to shape wood, build your technique, and bring your ideas to life.

New to the lathe or ready to take your skills further? Start with the fundamentals in Woodturning 101, develop your technique and experiment with new forms in Woodturning 201, or refine your bowl-turning skills in Woodturning 301.

October is full of glass workshops and classes, including Beginner Fused Glass 1, a four-week deep dive where you’ll get comfortable with the medium of glass, experiment with color and texture, and see your creations go from concept to kiln-fired pieces. You’ll spend time cutting, layering, shaping, and experimenting with different pieces of glass to create colorful pieces while learning new techniques along the way.

Not ready to commit to four weeks? Our one-day workshops are a great way to try fused glass, with holiday-themed projects to get you into the spirit of the season. 🎃🎄

Almost 200 years later and Cyanotype STILL has one of the most captivating and fun printing processes. 🌞🌀

Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that creates striking blue and white images by placing objects such as foliage, fabrics, or digital negatives on paper coated with a UV-sensitive solution and exposing the paper to UV light, leaving behind a deep blue print. 🔵⚪️

@microbialgrowth will be walking students through the process of creating their own unique cyanotype prints in a one-day workshop on Saturday, Sept 26th.

😉 FUN FACT: the term “blueprint” originates from traditional technical plans being made entirely through the Cyanotype process, resulting in the plans having a distinct blue-white color. by @mdhallclasses
