I feel like there's a grammatical error in here somewhere.

Anyway, how do y'all feel about me doing Collective write-ups like this? Should I keep doing it this way or just continue individual write-ups?

And I'm pretty sure he is producing his own beats. So at one point he'll make like some St Louis trap bounce, then he'll do like a almost DJ a track meets Mark Ronson type instrumental. The man is phenomenally talented.

He reminds of k'naan meets big knit or something..... but for Jesus

I think this is another way of affirming the idea of mature Christian Hip Hop. Like it's smooth the writing is smart but it's not the type of music that just works at a youth conference. Like you have to play this type of music at a coffee shop with a cafe.

It's funny because totally this is the exact opposite of summer in Paradise. It's perfect for colder weather.

If you are familiar with moment worship which he has featured vocals on this kind of fits the tone of that.

Good job on him this kind of reminds me of some of that more adult pop rap that you would hear on like the VH1 countdowns or something

Veteran emcee and mental health counselor Shane Kidd hits the hammer on the nail when it comes to the discussion of the performative nature that Christian rappers seemingly have to engage with, and also the demanding relationship with their audience.

It is kind of crazy that what he's getting at is, in a sense, the heart of a lot of what I'm going for with this page. The notion of separating ministry from artistry, as we have, over time, unhealthily conflated the two.

Maybe effectively parceling out the necessity and responsibilities of the two lanes would allow us to have more grace for artists when we more clearly understand the role. It wouldn't cause the artist to have this sort of love-hate relationship, or a slight disdain for the audience that they have to serve or feel like they need to serve. by @mdl.io
