Yesterday, we made the Kyle Serba Annual Scholarship Fund official.

If you know Kyle then you know there aren’t many people more deserving of being honored in this way. For 27 years, Kyle has been able to provide top notch coverage of our Athletic Department — doing a job that would have multiple assistants and interns helping to fulfill day to day tasks. During our time at NC Central, we saw that Kyle was playing a role of an entire team at other D1 schools — doing stats, game notes, pre/post game interviews, traveling with teams, post game articles, play by play, and more. Most people would walk around and complain or boast about all the work they do/did but Kyle never did as he probably didn’t have any time to 😂

I was always taught to find creative ways to show appreciation and I’m so glad were able to put our heads together and make this happen.

The fund will allow a student(s) majoring in Mass Communications with a 2.5 GPA or higher and a demonstrated financial need to intern for a minimum of 10 hours a week to assist and learn from Kyle in Strategic Communications within the NC Central Athletic Department. The student(s) will be able to use the funds for Room and Board, Books, Tuition, and/or whatever needed to make their experience at NCCU a little smoother.

Congrats Kyle — Thanks so much for making my experience a great one at NCCU. You deserve this! taken in North Carolina Central University by @mdotbell_
