What a brilliant day! 🖌️⚡️

The first day of Welcome Week got off to a flying start as our new students teamed up to design and create their very own brush characters — before putting them head-to-head in the ultimate Brush Battle! 👀

Raised against each other in the arena, the brushes competed for glory, with awards going to the Fastest Brush, the Slowest Brush and the brush that was Fastest to Leave the Arena 🏆💨

A brilliant first-day challenge bringing together making, character, teamwork and a healthy dose of competition — exactly the kind of creative chaos we love!

Months of ideas, planning and making all came together at last night’s @newblood_dandad Private View.

From the first box unloaded to welcoming industry professionals through our finished stand, it was an incredible day celebrating the creativity and talent of our graduating students.

Missed Opening Night? There’s still plenty of time to visit—the exhibition is open daily until 28 July, 10am–4pm.

This year’s festival identity reflects two different yet essential sides of the creative process: meticulous work and experimental play. It celebrates the outcomes born from blending these two approaches to creation. It highlights planning and attention to detail, alongside unapologetic self-expression and experimentation that accompanies students on their journeys toward success. Together, the visual elements of the identity showcase the diverse nature of artistic practice.
