“’don’t hate the player - hate the game’ is a space
of resistance—against the ways society tries to silence
marginalized voices, against the expectations imposed
on bodies that refuse to conform. Through objects,
images, and the tensions between them, I explore how
meaning shifts depending on context, just as people’s
identities and narratives are shaped by the gaze of

I’m back in my second hometown Baku preparing for my next show that will happen in my number one hometown Copenhagen.

Total installation, dimensions variable, 2026

100% takes as a starting point the history of the Kipi Konsthall building, which originally housed a business that imported and sold hand-woven carpets.

Jamili lets that history rub up against their own lived experience and mixes it with sculptures, drawings, photographs, clothes, family heirlooms and found objects. While Jamili lets these elements coexist in an environment that abolishes any imposed hierarchies, they also rearrange them - dislocating them - to see which new meanings emerge, which assumed truths become destabilised, and which unknowns are made accessible through these uncomfortable changes.

In our ongoing series from Roskilde Festival, we met up with artist Sahar Jamili to talk about her artwork ‘Vores drømme om i morgen’ - created with young people from Taastrupgaard.
