Can art be apolitical? No, as well as anything else in our lives. My heart shatters for every human going through the terror of war, of losing their homes, their loved ones, their lives. I want to light up every word on this wall, shout it as loud as I can to finally get them into the hearts of everyne.

It's been years of instant horror for people in these countries and it's getting only worse. This horror is sponsoured by our taxes, Canada. It's time to stand up against this inhumane violence.

37 years of life and 15 years of poi practice. This song accompanied my very first burn, recommended by Chris during @nick.woolsey ’s retreat at Leviathan Studio 12 years ago. So much has evolved since then. I’ve spent countless hours practicing to master this object we call poi. It has led me to new connections—both with incredible people and within my own mind—helping me grow as a human being.

I’ve learned that talent is simply the sum of the hours dedicated to a discipline, and it’s essential to realize that every hour invested in one place is an hour that can't be spent elsewhere. After going through depression, I also came to understand just how inspiring the movement community is. I wanted so badly to get better that I was constantly comparing myself to others and tearing myself down.

Now, I feel I’ve found a balance between my practice and accepting my performance limits—especially since I’ve chosen to invest my time in my family, running a business that brings poi into schools, and my own training, which spans martial arts, physical fitness, poi, sword, staff, and more.

I want to dedicate myself to helping those who wish to discover the world of movement, and I truly believe that investing in movement and creativity will slowly ease conflict and make room for kindness.

My door will always be open to anyone wanting to move and create.
