Happy Birthday Tommy ✨🌼
Today you are 4 ✨🌼 We feel you with us every day. We see you in the butterflies, the stars and the daffodils. You’re part of every milestone and celebration in our family and we speak your name with reverence, longing and also with joy, because you are ours. We are so lucky.

A couple of years ago, deep in my grief, I spoke with a medium who said ‘Your son, he shows me flowers, he says “I didn’t get to smell them, but I hope you like that one” - and he keeps in his hand a yellow daffodil. He says it’s for you.
He says, ‘I’m not gone, I’m still here, take me to the garden and sing to me there’
He points to a lot of aspects of nature”

So, to me, Heaven is a field of golden blooms and my dark haired boy waiting for me. by @meaganfeatures

September 23rd will forever be the day our baby boy didn’t get to stay. Tommy’s Birthday. Sometimes it’s easier for me to make things golden and shiny, I’m always so upbeat… so I thought I’d be raw and real and say that three years in, our hearts are still broken. I still have triggers sometimes at work that I have to navigate during time critical situations, I still fantasise about an alternate reality where I get to birth a full term beautiful little dark haired boy named Tommy, and I still feel guilt and shame that I couldn’t save him. Saying happy birthday feels weird, I don’t feel happy, I feel deep pain. But as my beautiful friend says, it hurts so much because he mattered so much. Grief is love and I will love him with every beat of my heart for as long as I live. by @meaganfeatures

Winter Solstice ❄️ Sun bread baked by tiny hands and eaten warm with lumps of butter, strawberry jam and a sprinkling of cinnamon. Throwing leaves (Rosie always seems to get us with the wet, soggy bottom foliage), Hazel’s seawinds photography, fairy gardens, lanterns gently decorated with leaves and coloured paper squares, Otis the kangaroo… we think? Sea air, hot chips and milkshake battles, coming home to tend to the garden and see the beginnings of Tommy’s daffodils emerging. Cold nights, red wine, flickering candlelight on our seasonal table and the sheer romance of little wintery family traditions taking form by @meaganfeatures

May 🍂 My tiny hazelnut turned SEVEN! Celebration rings, colourful ornaments and acrobatics, mums day, Monday fundays that included wallabies and disco balls, Werribee Zoo - which birthed Otis’ new obsession with ‘G-Dawgs!’ (Giraffes obviously), sun rising on night shift endings, dopamine dressing (always) ft flower pot hair for Rose, crafting crowns, and hot potatoes! 🥔 Life feels very sweet right now. The balance between work and family is perfect. It’s a stunning chaos and I’m here for every second of it. by @meaganfeatures
