A different version of me would dim this weekends light due to the duality of life’s current circumstances.

Circumstances:
1. Me in PHX at an incredible event @powerhouse_women doing makeup for @jessicazweig for the second time.
Literal DREAM.

2. Me in Phx while my family is home in Hawaii in the middle of a hurricane that our island was not prepared for. (Michael solo with the kids, holding it down)

Through the duality of feelings this weekend one thing I know is that it’s all for my expansion AND still so fucking hard.

I’m deciding to be in gratitude regardless of life’s circumstances because in order for me to change and live my dreams I have to choose to BE different.

Which includes posting this highlight moment in the now instead of months later.

I’m grateful the storm has passed, my family is safe, that we have incredible friends that have become family.

I’m grateful to be creating my dream life, be in the rooms to hear what I need to grow and ultimately life itself.

Thank you Jess for being the catalyst for this trip to happen and Michael for being the most capable dad to our boys in an insane storm. 🙏🏼 by @meaganmua

It’s honestly wild that it’s been a year (to the day) since I did @kathyhilton ‘s makeup (twice)… and I’m just now sharing it.

It started as a normal Friday.
I was off my phone for a bit, and when I checked it, I had a missed call from “Kathy Hilton”
Like… her actual name in my caller ID. 👀

My first thought? Scam. Obviously.
But then I saw there was a voicemail… and to my surprise, it was really her!!
Kathy Hilton, asking if I was available later that day to do her makeup. (!!!)

When Kathy Hilton calls you to do her makeup, you call her back and then you go. 🏃‍♀️ 😅

After the first night, she booked me again for the next day, and later asked if I could do her makeup in her daughter’s room. (Pinch me moment)

I ended up meeting @parishilton (!!!!), which felt both surreal and completely natural at the same time.

I also met Mariah @makeupbymariahmelanie , another Hawaii based Makeup Artist who was there doing makeup for Paris, It was honestly really special getting to connect with her in that specific circumstance.✨

That weekend reminded me that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE and always be prepared for the unexpected. I couldn’t have ever imagined that weekend AND it happened.

And they get to keep happening.

Cheers to more random Friday afternoon calls changing my perceptions on life. 🥂 ✨ by @meaganmua

Day in the life- Big Island wedding edition.

It’s quite normal for me to wake up in the 3am hour but not the norm to be on the road shortly after.

I drove across the island (takes 2 hours) picked up a Matcha for @makeupbymariahmelanie and picked her up from the airport.
We drove up to @maunalaniauberge to start getting set up for our bridal party and then spend the next portion of our day glamming Danielle’s girls. ✨
After touch ups I did a Costco run and then back to the other side (2 hr drive) and passed out around 8/8:30pm.
I had a great time AND I very much needed to get caught up on rest.
Being a mom and not well-resourced on food, sleep or water is not ideal for anyone. Rest is a MUST.

How do you recharge after your sprints or marathons?? by @meaganmua

Clients like Danielle make my heart feel like it’s singing💖

A few days after Danielle’s wedding, she wrote me this:

“You truly did such a wonderful magical job at my wedding, is there anywhere I can put a review up for you? Words can’t describe how much I loved your work and I got SO many compliments!”

Word of Affirmation girlie 🙋🏼‍♀️

And

Many of the women I’ve worked with for over a decade tell me me that the way I do their eye makeup is truly unique.

It makes sense because it was what I was always attracted to when my love for makeup first began. It was also where all the money I made as a teenager went to… MAC.
(MAC was life in the early 2000’s 😉)

Back then I desperately wanted to be able to make my green eyes pop.✨
And now as a MUA my goal is to master every person’s makeup that sits in my chair and that they absolutely love the way their eyes look.

Eyes are the window to the soul and I want your eye makeup to be an extension of expressing the essence of who you are (for any and every circumstance)

Thank you Danielle for having me part of your day @maunalaniauberge with @blissinbloom

I’m so grateful. 🙏🏼 by @meaganmua

The Self Image Event is NEXT WEEK Tuesday Nov 3rd in San Diego at Alice & Olivia boutique in UTC 5pm-8pm.

Danielle Amos @thedanielleamos will be speaking on Self-Image and how the image you have of yourself from the inside dictates the results in your life.

@mahjubastylist will be teaching you how to use your wardrobe to dress aligned and take you to your next level and I’ll be teaching you how to understand your eyes so you can have fun doing your eyeshadow and stop slipping it because you never learned.

Comment EDIT and I’ll send you the flyer directly with everything you need. Excited to see you in person✨ by @meaganmua

For years I saw the gaps in my work instead of the gain. Here are 20 looks I love and have rarely shared.

Lately I’ve been looking back over my career and how my style has changed, and I can see now how those gaps never served me.
They kept me small and didn’t allow me to see the fullness of my talents and abilities.
As I’ve been bringing more of myself to the surface this year and embracing the truth of who and what I am, I have so much love and compassion for that earlier version of me.

She knew she was a badass, but she didn’t truly embrace it.

If you’re hard on yourself the way I was, try looking back at your own work or your own year this week and write down what you built instead of what you’d change.
To every woman in these photos, thank you for sitting in my chair. I’ve become a better artist and a better person because of you.
Save these for the next time you book makeup.

I LOVE when clients show me my own work for inspiration.
Which one would you bring to your next appointment? Tell me the number. by @meaganmua

My 4 tips for crease proof under eyes. ✨

Getting to work with @iamnatalie 2 days in a row was a dream. ✨ (thanks to @jessicazweig for referring me)

She had a few requests with her makeup. On day 1 she asked that her makeup wasn’t “Cakey” and didn’t crease.
On day 2 she said she fully trusted me because day 1 looked perfect all day and there was no creasing. 💫

There seems to be a lot of contradicting info on this online. Some people claim it can’t be done.
I however believe it’s possible for everyone, as long as you follow a few important steps and maybe do a little experimenting.

This is a soft glam look with coverage in specific places vs. full coverage everywhere. If your makeup is creasing or moving around there are ways to keep it in place.

Let me know below which tip you’re going to incorporate and any other questions about longevity crease proof looks.. 🫶🏼 by @meaganmua

PSA to my female entrepreneurs.

Women & Wealth with @samanthaskelly in San Diego is less than a month away! (November 5the & 6th)

If you have a business, want to grow in a way that feels full of possibility, and want to learn from 7 and 8 figure entrepreneurs, you want to be in this room.

I used to think that if I just worked harder and pushed harder, I could achieve more, and that belief only got me so far. Women do business differently than men, and this event helped me understand that in a way that has been changing my life.

Comment WEALTH and I’ll send you the link to get your ticket.
