I'm also a very short person, so the armor would totally be waaaaay too bulky, so I wanted to go a little more minimal. I was kinda concerned about having my hands visable, but I'm kinda digging being able to see my nails/thorn ring. Kinda gives a human (light world, I guess, since Dess isn't human 🤣) element. I finished Kris with a couple hours to spare. 😭(I'll make a bigger post tomorrow, but I wanted to get this in for the anniversary) I absolutely pushed everything I knew how to do to make this cosplay. Including LEARNING PIANO. I only started playing 3 months ago specifically for this cosplay. So this piano MAY not be played well, but I'm learning.Honestly, props to Kris. I can't see through the hair, the armor limits my movement, I'm wearing gloves that don't fit and cant feel the keys, and I'm PAINTED BLUE. For the KNIGHT has appeared.The KNIGHT that pulls the Fountains from the Earth.Holy Fountains, whose shadows are creating a new world...📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰[[LOST GIRL / Part 5 ]] Shoot Notes:We had to pivot for the last couple hours of this shoot because Robbie had some scheduling conflicts. We were already in the same area as the Holiday Sisters shoot and then we had the epiphany:"What if we shot in the same locations as those lighthearted shots, but at night?"And its wild how VERY DIFFERENT these photos feel at a totally different time of day/year.They're places that Dess existed in, but not anymore.At least not in the same form. I only exist in shadows in a lot of the photos of these sets. And that's kinda creepy.Something I REALLY love about the first shot is how Kris's shadows projects onto the deer mural and it looks like it has antlers - the shadow looks more like Dess than Kris, almost as if Kris is facing judgement for their actions.I also like Azzy's! It feels more like God of Hyperdeath Asriel. 📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰Technical Notes:The idea for manipulating the shadows was Quack's idea! I knew the photos at night would be a very different feel, but Quack was the person who was suggested playing with our flashlights/shadows to further the storytelling. And as you can see in the 3rd photo (and some other photos I've posted) I don't even need to be in my Roaring Knight cosplay to cosplay it: I just need my own shadow.And it took a while to figure out how to get the shadows on the walls while also having enough light for Kris/Az without accidently projecting the person helping with the shadows. But yeah, These are definitely up there as some of my favorite photos of the day because they have this subtle uneasiness. "I'm starting to lose track of the time.Has it been days? Hours?If someone told me it's been years, I might believe them..."-UNUSED - Deltarune Chapter 4📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰[[LOST GIRL / Part 3 ]]One part remaining of this night set. The last of this set is probably my favorite shot.I just really like this set in general because the scary parts of Deltarune are some of my favorites. (Makes me sad though because the scary/serious content usually doesn't do as well as funnier stuff. So, I'm absolutely thrilled the first shot of this set is doing so well )For these two shots we used a VERY TALL tripod and remote to get the height needed for this angle. 🚪 S H E L T E R 1 🚪TFW people are like: you should make a Live Action Deltarune. And we did. There's too many things to talk about with this set:-The location/door was a total accident we came across. -When we planned this meetup the goal was just to do the fun stuff, but when there were scheduling issues for the slumber party shots, we played around with the idea: What if we revisited the darker Holiday Sisters photos/locations with Az and Kris and continued the story?-These are taken at different times of day/year which really helps with the storytelling of the passage of time of Dess's disappearance. Noelle's were taken in daytime fall and Az/Kris were midnight late winter/early spring -Quack was the one who suggested playing around with the shadows. And when you see what my shadows look like, MAN DO I LOOK LIKE THE ROARING NIGHT. I have a prop sword, but I forgot it. And I'm honestly amazed how much my BAT looks like a sword in the last short. -Like the Lost Girl Set (will post the finals for that soon) we played around with grief of how each of the characters dealt with Dess's disappearance.Noelle resorts to fear, Asriel, despair,And Kris, a silent anger (and possibly guilt?)But overall, I'm so proud of everyone for working their butts off for these sets. "W H E R E A R E Y O U, D E S S?'📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰[[LOST GIRL / Part 2]]This is the Asriel variation. In this set, we wanted to play around with the juxtaposition of how Az and Kris had different ways they dealt with the grief over losing Dess and we kind of wanted to leave it ambiguous because we still don't know WHAT happened to her or the rolls each of the kids played in it.For Kris, we gave them the bat because there's a lot of known lore centered around that and we felt Kris' reaction might be a subtle, quiet anger. Whereas we felt that Az's coping mechanism was shutting down and completely cutting off. (I mean, despite the Internet being off in Hometown, he's clearly not trying outreach while at college. ) How do you think each of the kids dealt with her disappearing?Photography / Edits / Dess in Poster @mecchan_chan(You can find the posters in my Dess story! "This sounds crazy, but even though no one can hear me,When I hear that noise, I feel like someone's listening.Anyone, if you're there... thank you."-UNUSED - Deltarune Chapter 4📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰📰[[LOST GIRL / Part 4 ]]Technical Notes:These were tricky shots to figure out because we didn't have Robbie at this point for photography. We had a very tall tripod for the camera with a clicker. While I'm the only person facing the camera, I wasn't able to man the clicker for this shot because both my hands were occupied. Quack is "technically" the photographer for this one because his hands were the easiest ones to conceal it while taking the photos. I was the person who adjusted the camera and slipped in/out of the shot to make adjustments to the framing/angle. We didn't have a light source tall enough for these shots and were totally dependent on a lamp post to illuminate us. That's kind of the thing about night photography, you spend a lot of time fiddling with the light/darkness/shadows that you don't get nearly as many photos as you would with a well-lit shoot. But the shots you DO get 👌😤Shoot Notes:These were some of the final shots we took from the Park/Sleepover/Missing girl shoot day. And I was BEYOND COLD at this point. THE CAGE,WITH HUMAN SOUL AND PARTS.♥️❤️♥️❤️♥️❤️♥️❤️♥️❤️♥️❤️♥️This is one of my favorite shots Robbie took this day of Aurumdire. (The symbolism of the red from the headband, heart, wagon are my favorite parts)The birdcage I found at a thrift store and painted black. I sewed the soul. Wagon was a week-of purchase because we had a ton of props to transport and it made more sense to have something that looked like Kris's wagon if I already needed one anyway. I also knit the sweater a couple years back for my Asriel cosplay. P R O C E E D (1)✊💔✊💔✊💔✊💔✊💔✊💔✊💔✊💔Concept Notes:Sometimes you make fan theories for chapters that haven't been released... And it's gonna be wild to see which ones were way off and which ones actually stuck. Me, personally, from what we can observe in ch4 and Weird Route, I've always gotten the impression from clues in-game that Dess and Kris had a complicated (maybe strained) relationship. Kris goes out of their way with obscuring things involving Dess, and it's not really clear if it's out of guilt, coersion, misdirected admiration, or what. So, with this set, we wanted to play around with some of the fan theories around Kris, Dess, and aspects of manipulation. Kris manipulates Noelle to the player's bidding in Weird Route, but what if Dess did the same thing to Kris via the Soul?TBH as a Dess cosplayer, I'm not the biggest fan of this theory because I've seen it get pushed into gr00m1ng territory because of the assumed age gap ( and that grosses me out). But with how quickly Toby made that Ch4 Weird Route Rose Patch, I have a hard time believing this is a plot direction he'd go. I'm more likely to believe she's coersing Kris using guilt (if Kris caused her disappearance/change in form as the knight) as the driving force rather than something like that.Technical Notes:@aurumdire absolutely blows my mind with the body language he's able to get with Kris. It's all very organic. And I really love how Robbie was able to capture the force of Dess driving the Soul back into Kris.
