Hello Friends and followers!!

Haven’t posted on here in a minute, I haven’t had a lot of time dedicated to art. Recently I have picked up knitting and have been working on this project for a while and finally finished!

I can take this kind of work with me when we travel, to the beach, or it’s easy to just do at home. I love learning new skills and this one really challenged me. Maybe I’ll start another one who knows!! And maybe I’ll start being more active on here, we shall see😂 by @mech_art_

My dog Oliver enjoys taking naps in my room. I used to have to lay out my couch cushion for him, but decided he needed a bed of his own. So what better idea than to make one myself! I up-cycled old quilt material from past projects to make this one. Once it was sewn together, I filled it with old scrap material so it’s completely recycled!

I started up this art account for fun, a place to share my art, never really gave much mind to it. Reflecting on it now, it has become a safe place to share art and appreciate what it has to offer with other people. Art is one of those things that unifies one another. It’s a way to express feeling, tell stories, or something simply for aesthetic. There is no such things as “good art” it’s just art! That is what I love about it so much. Breaking rules, trying new things. It can be whatever you want it to be.

Art has been one of my passions. Something I have always done to fulfill myself. Everyone has a passion, and it’s never too late to start and learn something new. Whatever you do in life, make sure it is done with kindness, love, compassion, and truth. I use art to express myself, and sometimes it might not be something people like, and that is ok! This journey it has been hard, but good to learn you are not for everyone, just how your art is not for everyone either. I live by the quote “you could be the sweetest peach in the tree, and some people just don’t like peaches!”

I appreciate my 125 followers and supporting me and what I do:) I hope this inspires you to live your life with truth, color, fun, and don’t be afraid to step out of your confront zone too! Lots of new things out there to try, and this is a reminder that there will always be people supporting you:) by @mech_art_

I feel like I don’t share a lot of my sketches on here, but it’s fun to dabble in multiple types of medium.

Charcoal is so fun because you get to strictly play with the concept of contrast and how that alters an image. You can make a drawing soft, or crisp with harsh changes between dark and light. There is no color involved, which is a uniquely fun challenge in itself. It’s fun to simply mess around and try new things. Anyways, here are some I’ve done in the past, nothing too crazy or serious, but really fun. (Also SUPER messy) by @mech_art_

Life traveling on the road for basketball can be crazy busy. It’s hard to to sometimes stay creative this time of year, so I’ve been making little stop motion videos as a way to stay creative and continue to express myself:) my only goal is to still inspire others with my work and maybe put a little smile on someone’s face by @mech_art_

Let’s talk art

Had an incredible opportunity recently to visit Spain, which is not only rich in history and culture, but art as well.

We visited the royal palace in Madrid, that had a total of over 3,000 rooms. In the grand entrance, there was a ceiling hand painted with a mural. As we ventured to each room, we were able to see how carefully crafted each little detail was in these rooms. They each had their own theme and design, and everything was completely hand done. Everything I have ever learned about in history books was right there in front of my own eyes.

The architecture was something that was also incredible. There was a turn in the gothic period after the Romanesque era. It was evident in the more pointed arches, giant sculpture, ribbed vaults, and even stained glass, which we saw on a lot of buildings and churches. This era developed during the 12th century AD, which means these buildings were around during the medieval times.

We also had a chance to pop in the Picasso museum. What I loved about this is most people think of cubism when they think Picasso, but before he crafted this style, he was a more traditional painter. We also got to see his sketches and how he thought out his pieces which was fascinating. The show was a timeline of his life and how his art developed over the years. Even his famous blue period of work was shown. His most famous piece “guernica” resides in the Reina Sophia in Madrid, we sadly didn’t have time to stop by this art museum but it was very cool to see his work in Barcelona.

Last artist to talk about is Antoni Gaudi. He was an architect with a very distinct style. He attained inspiration from nature which was evident in his design. He used curved lines and smooth surfaces. He also loved mosaic and up-cycling ceramic into his work. Lots of people hated his work which they thought was tacky. The term “gaudy”, actually stems from the name Gaudi, fun fact. His last work was the Sagrada Família, which is still being worked on today.

I can go on and on about this as there is so much to talk about, but overall it was an incredible experience for a young artist and learner. by @mech_art_

Finished a fun little painting

Lots of my art has been inspired by little moments in life recently and the people in my life. This was a little moment I snapped of these two women at the bakery. Made for such a cute painting.

Fun little fact is I started this painting over a year ago, and finally came around to finishing it:) sometimes it’s ok to take breaks and come back to things when ready. I finally had the time to sit and do a painting of my own. Didn’t have to turn it in for a grade or nothing! And I love how it turned out

I ended up going back to the bakery and treating myself to some pastries. Art is such a wonderful thing:) by @mech_art_
