Diavol Strâin #LiveonKEXP | Chilean darkwave duo @diavolstrain summon rage and melancholy through pounding rhythms and cold synths. Live on KEXP, the two deliver a haunting performance of "Un Camino A La Muerte" and more. Tonight’s guest mix features Electro royalty @interestingresults from NOLA and we’re so excited to shine a spotlight on this amazing DJ. She makes sick mixes and this one does not disappoint 🤯 2:00 AM PST @kexp ———————— With years of experience behind the controls and an enduring passion for all kinds of electronic music, Interesting Results is a staple of the underground soundscape. Rooted in the formative days of college radio—where the purest forms of crate-digging and genre-blending take shape—she developed an ear for warped rhythms and textures. Having called New Orleans home for almost 20 years, Interesting Results infuses the city’s pulse with a forward-thinking electro vision. Her sets are a masterclass in atmosphere and momentum. Last week on @mechanicalbreakdownkexp, I continued celebrating Aquí y Ahora with another hour mix from me in the first hour, followed by an in-studio session with @diavolstrain, and then closed it out with more music! Such a fun moment in the year for me to take all the music I’ve saved up throughout the year and finally play through my discoveries and favorites. Again, love and thanks to @albinacabrera, who curates and project manages Hispanic Heritage Month @kexp. She does a ton of amazing work for this moment and all year long. Thank you for reading and listening. 🖤 …and please follow @mechanicalbreakdownkexp :) ————————— Listen to Mechanical Breakdown, hosted by Sharlese on KEXP, every Saturday (Friday night) from 1-3am. ——————————————- #kexp #kexpseattle #mechanicalbreakdownkexp by @mechanicalbreakdownkexp
Last Friday, I took part in @kexp's annual celebration of the contributions, resilience, and music of Latinx, Hispanic, and Latino-identified communities in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month aka Aqui y Ahora! Love and thanks to @albinacabrera who curates and project manages the celebration at KEXP and does an inspiring job. This show features the first hour mix from me and the second hour is a guest mix from @_balvanera_ I'm continuing the celebration this week with more music and an in-studio with @diavolstrain 🦇 Thank you, and have a good weekend! 🖤 ...and please follow @mechanicalbreakdownkexp :) 🎨 @intonalshifts ————————— Listen to Mechanical Breakdown, hosted by Sharlese on KEXP, every Saturday (Friday night) from 1-3am. ——————————————- #kexp #kexpseattle #mechanicalbreakdownkexp by @mechanicalbreakdownkexp
Tonight on Mechanical Breakdown! We're excited to share a mix from @_balvanera_ as we celebrate Aqui y Ahora on @kexp ❤️ The first hour is a mix from Sharlese featuring Latinx, Hispanic, and Latino-identified communities across the U.S. and Europe from 1-2am PST and then Balvanera's mix will air from 2-3am PST. Tune in at www.kexp.org // or from 1am-3am PDT // 10am - 12pm CET // or 6 - 8am Buenos Aires time --------------- Balvanera is Agustina Vizcarra and Lucas Palavecino from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Formed in 2016, they have built a significant global following in the EBM community. After initially exploring various wave and minimal synth genres, the project has evolved toward an intense and rhythmic form of body music that moves between an aggressive, dance-driven electro-beat and a more spectral, cerebral lilt. The group has toured across the United States (hitting noteworthy venues including Synthicide, Das Bunker, and the Chicago Sanctum), as well as Mexico, Peru, Chile, and Brazil, and have shared the stage with such artists as Clan of Xymox, Boy Harsher, Die Selektion, Kontravoid, NNHMN, Ash Code, Mueran Humanos and more. ————————— Listen to Mechanical Breakdown, hosted by Sharlese on KEXP, every Saturday (Friday night) from 1-3am. ——————————————- #kexp #kexpseattle #mechanicalbreakdownkexp by @mechanicalbreakdownkexp

Hello! It's been a minute since I've posted any playlists, and it's because of a number of things happening in my life! Traveling, living, trying to manage multiple social media accounts and failing at it :) I just want to say I'm grateful to all of you who have continued to listen to the show, send me music, and, if you made a guest mix, for your patience with me! I've been doing this show for about six years, and I love it. I'm hoping to stay on it as much as possible and to keep releasing playlists every week. The artists that I play (a lot of new ones) deserve the support, and I know this. The guest mixes deserve to be heard, and the labels releasing the music deserve the support too. I'm working on getting caught up slowly 🦇🦇🦇 so here's the playlist from last Friday, 8/28/2026! ...and please follow @mechanicalbreakdownkexp :) 🎨 @intonalshifts ————————— Listen to Mechanical Breakdown, hosted by Sharlese on KEXP, every Saturday (Friday night) from 1-3am. ——————————————- #kexp #kexpseattle #mechanicalbreakdownkexp by @mechanicalbreakdownkexp
