The BPaLM regimen, a four-drug combination consisting of Bedaquiline, Pretomanid, Linezolid, and Moxifloxacin, has proven to be a safe, more effective, and faster treatment option compared to previous MDR-TB treatment procedures.

The components of the BPaLM regimen possess bactericidal activity, making them effective anti-mycobacterial drugs when used together.

Bedaquiline blocks adenosine triphosphate (ATP) synthase, Pretomanid inhibits cell wall biosynthesis, Linezolid inhibits protein synthesis, and Moxifloxacin inhibits mycobacterial topoisomerases.

No dose modifications are allowed for Bedaquiline, Moxifloxacin, and Pretomanid. Unlike traditional MDR-TB treatments that can last up to 20 months with severe side effects, the BPaLM regimen can cure drug-resistant TB in just six months with a high treatment success rate.

The National Strategic Plan for TB Elimination aims to end TB by 2025 through a multi-pronged approach, including Universal Drug Susceptibility Testing (UDST) to detect drug resistance.

The Ni-kshay 2.0 portal provides additional patient support to improve treatment outcomes, promotes community involvement, and leverages Corporate Social Responsibility opportunities to meet India's commitment to end TB by 2025.
