CHAT?!??!! Do I do my stuff & take it to the max? 💫🤭If you would have told me that I was going to be in a @wearfigs campaign & highlighting what I do and how I do it?! (High pitched hyper count downs & all) I would told you.. you lying! Thank you to the team at @wearfigs for highlighting the people doing the work!! As a 4th year OBGYN resident, I truly feel honored. People messaging me saying I “represent” the field well and I’m just getting started. I don’t take it lightly!! Thank you to my very overqualified assist/ OBGYN resident/ friend @hebronkelecha for saying yes to my very last minute ask and giving full support!. We met in Chicago and trained at different residency programs, so to be on set with you was probably closest to a real delivery with you!! I wish 🥹🫶🏾 This was after a very long surgical day, on my feet for 13 hours and it was fun to be on the other side of the scrub representation. Post 14 hour night shift & still on cloud 9 because ☁️ I did my FIRST vaginal twin 🤰🏿breech extraction & can I just say…as a twin myself, practicing this skill hits different! ☁️ my first midline vertical skin incision for a c-section ☁️ Delivered all of our TOLAC’s on the board vaginally ☁️ & cleared the day team board for 1 second .. (well until our triage blew up with admits)Intern year can be shitty for so many reasons but smooth & successful nights like this make it worth while. why am I still doing black weekends as an OBGYN after graduating residency? IDK 😅 I have questions as well. what I did to not loose myself during intern year 💫 something about cancelling plans on me when I had a free weekend would send me into irrational anger and grief until I flipped those into self dates and new boundaries. antidepressants. therapy.
