25 years…

Since thousands of innocent lives were taken far too soon… Since families said goodbye without knowing it would be the last time… Since first responders ran toward danger while so many others were running away.

This morning, I climbed the stairs in their honor with @teamrwb This afternoon, I completed the Tower Challenge, marking my 5th year climbing these stairs. And tonight, I walked to the 9/11 Memorial & stood beneath the beautiful Tribute in Light.

Looking up at those two beams of light against the New York sky, I was reminded that 25 years can pass, but the lives lost will never be forgotten. We remember the courage, the sacrifice, & the countless stories that were forever changed that day.

To walk these streets, stand at the Memorial & be a part of it as a New Yorker is something I don’t think I’ll ever take for granted. Today was a reminder of resilience, sacrifice, courage, & the strength of a city that continues to rise. Most of all, it was a reminder to never take this life, this city, or the people we love for granted. I’m grateful to be here & grateful to honor the lives that were lost.

I hope we continue to carry their memory with us. Not only today, but in the way we live, the way we love, & the way we care for one another 🤍 taken in National September 11 Memorial & Museum by @meeekss__

August archives: 3 months living in New York ♥
This month taught me to trust God a little deeper, slow down, & recognize His goodness in the little things. I’m grateful for the blessings He’s shown me, the doors He’s opened, & the ways He continues to remind me that His plans are always better than mine 🙏🏽
