As I sat and watched deer filter into my set up it became increasingly evident that the sun was going to produce some incredible “Golden” light on this evening sit. This beautiful, native South Texas 8pt buck came cruising into my cameras optimal range and as the Golden Hour lighting cast upon his pre-rut body I snapped a gorgeous shot portraying him in his natural habitat. Quickly one of my favorite shots I’ve had the chance of taking!

An old, rusty, spin-cast feeder and a big ol’ framed 10pt buck under it just screams South Texas! 🔥 The rut has been tough per usual, I will always be in awe by the amount of weight loss on bucks this time of year. That being said… it’s grow time. 💪

Now that I have some what collected myself I will start by saying THANK YOU to all who follow and support this photography page. When I first started this 6 months ago I did not expect it to go this far, and I definitely didn’t think I would win a NATION wide contest. I’m absolutely grateful for the constant support.

Officially @sitkagear DIVERGE10 Whitetail Category Winner.

Opening week scenes 🕊️

Feels great being back down in South Texas shooting dove birds! I swear I had some shells with no BBs in them for some reason? Weird.

One more month till we’re chasing some big boys though 🦌 taken in South Texas by @meeklo1

Man is it exciting to call in a Tom! I took up turkey hunting fairly recently and I’ve been hooked on it. This bird was silent for some time before I threw a gobble at him 🔥 fired him right up

Maybe 10 seconds after I started cracking antlers together and this guy comes barreling through the brush. If it’s gonna happen, it’s gonna happen quick and it’s safe to say the rut is in full swing down South Texas!

Sunset showdown 🔥

Cooler temps had these boys feelin rowdy. Big boy at the end wasn’t too happy with these little guys getting active and decided to join in on the games! 😤

Foggy mornings just go with big bucks! Caught this beautiful 10pt with a little extra off his frame cruising in the early morning fog. Deer movement is quickening and their hocks are getting darker… the rut is among us 🔥
