Just so insanely grateful for this.
I know not everyone gets the chance to see their long distance family. I feel so privileged I get to do so.

To my grandpa, you lost your whole family at such a young age to be imprisoned then planted in a country you did not know as your own. You inspire me to make my heart my home.

To my grandma with him, for living in hut mud houses place to place, and feeding your family straight from soil to mouth. For the way you have strengthened every one of your children and your husband so far. I hope I can be as strong as you one day.

To my grandma in Seoul. For moving to Aotearoa and raising me. Helping me have stability and love in a childhood that was rough. Thank you for being there to watch me grow. You inspire me to be resilient and loving in whatever place I am moved to whether it be physical or spiritual.

I am so grateful for my whakapapa. I honestly believe the strength in my genes has been a core element to what has kept me here til today despite my illnesses and challenges I have faced on my own.
