The countdown is on… we are going back to the Keys. 🌴 Part work, part play, but isn’t that always the case? This time, we’re headed to Islamorada for a site visit at @cheecalodge followed by a FAM trip.

Got a call from @jules_owen_ . She said the weather window looked good and she wanted to come up and visit me in Traverse City.

What I didn’t realize was that “come visit” meant FLY UP IN A FLOATPLANE AND PICK ME UP DOWNTOWN.

Jules got her seaplane rating in February, had the floatplane in Michigan, and apparently decided I was qualified to be a passenger. 😂

We flew all over northwest Michigan, dropped down and touched the water, which I’m sure has an actual aviation term, stopped in Charlevoix for gas, and cruised back to Traverse City.

I had absolutely no idea what she was doing up there. Lots of buttons. Lots of gauges. Very official-looking stuff. But she made it look cool as hell.

Super pumped for my friend and this new hobby of hers. We didn’t get nearly enough time to catch up, but it was so good seeing her and getting to tag along for the adventure.

And somehow, after all that, I hopped on my OneWheel and was home in time for dinner.

@robert.kroezen and I climbed the Sydney Bridge! Before the climb, everyone has to sign off on a health waiver, take a breathalyzer test, remove all jewelry and bobby pins, make sure you can climb the practice stairs correctly (and listen to instructions). You change into a swishy suit, get a harness & head set, and then you climb. It was quite an experience. Not only do you get the best view of the city, but you also get to learn a lot of history. We had a LOT of questions, and our guide answered all of them. 10/10 recommend. If you’re visiting Sydney it’s worth doing at least once. 😊

I got lucky being home while the sun was out and the ice was still hanging on. Had to take the drone up over West Grand Traverse Bay and grab a few shots.

A great incentive trip should be something people cannot recreate on their own.
