I have been making another batch of clay ‘Suicide Awareness’ brooches.
I have played around a bit with the shape of the ribbon and the colours vary a little as to where they have been placed in the kiln and with the different thicknesses of the underglazes.

These brooches are there to help create a conversation.

When wearing one of these brooches, and someone asks what it stands for, then most importantly, this is when you can start a conversation perhaps around how to recognise the signs when people need help. And to encourage our loved ones to please ‘Stay another day’

If you live in NZ and would like one sent to you. Then DM me with your name and address. I only charge for the postage, not the making. One brooch is about $10.00 postage fee.

My first coffee in a lovely Chris Southern salt glazed mug, I have just bought from Auckland Studio Potters. I have been buying different potters mugs to add to my collection.
Chris is a NZ potter. Check his work out @laurence.christopher

We made it!!! 🤪😱 758 steps down and 758 steps back up. Admittedly it was at a slow pace but such a beautiful place to visit. Omanawa Falls. 30 minutes inland from Tauranga NZ.

I enjoyed doing this Alla Prima oil painting for my artist friend Jane Thorne’s 50th birthday. It’s of her dog Sully, who sits next her while she’s painting in her studio.
Happy Birthday Jane. ❤️

A charcoal drawing I’m working on at present, for a series of works I’m creating around music, ancestry and Epigenetic’s.
‘Bound by the chords of ancestors’.

A couple more charcoal drawings I enjoyed doing.
My students have been drawing horses lately, so a bit of a refresher for myself with drawing horses. Of course we had to do them being the ‘year of the horse’ and all!
