These images carry the weight of history, community, and legacy. The Floorlords have been building Boston’s hip-hop dance culture in schoolyards, community centers, and our city streets for 45 years.Shared with me by B-Boy MEGATRON, these photographs offer a glimpse into the early years of the Floorlords.The Floorlords recently received the Momentum Award from BAMS Fest, recognition earned through decades of dedication, community, and an unwavering commitment to the culture.When I look at these photographs, I see a group of young people doing what they loved with passion and pride.The photographs are archival, but their legacy is still being written. Congratulations to the entire Floorlords family on this well-deserved honor.Thank you to MEGATRON for sharing these photographs and allowing us a window into this history.The choice of “Pak Man” by Boston’s Jonzun Crew was intentional.
