en dialogue avec les volumes de l’exposition self storage, deux concerts se tiendront au sein de l’espace commines ce vendredi 18 septembre

Megabasse (projet solo de pierre bujeau, membre de Tanz
mein herz et omertà) s’empare d’une guitare double manche pour la jouer presque comme une harpe, saturée d’harmoniques. Le son s’étire en un flux continu, quelque part entre drone contemplatif et minimalisme hypnotique, venant transformer l’écoute et la perception même du lieu.

face à cette dilatation temporelle, sébastien forrester déploie une énergie percussive immédiate. Signé sur des labels comme promesses ou dense truth (forest swords) et habitué des collaborations transversales (avec coby sey, Kukii ou brodinski), le batteur et producteur croise rythmiques rituelles occitanes et électronique de club déconstruite. Il fait dialoguer synthèses modulaires, polyrythmies et sound design physique pour chercher le frottement brut entre mémoire traditionnelle et abstraction contemporaine.

𝗠𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲 | 𝗢𝗨𝗧.𝗙𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Usually tied to the rock excesses of Jimmy Page or the unfortunate memory of the endless solo in “Hotel California”, the double-neck electric guitar becomes, in the hands of Pierre Bujeau, a portal out of those bloated, phallic conventions. A member of Omertà and Tans Mein Herz, Bujeau uses Megabasse as a solitary vehicle for long, hypnotic traversals across the instrument’s strings, unfolding a melodic minimalism that gradually turns in on itself as an “orchestra” of resonances and harmonics – echoing bells and cathedral reverberations, a kind of secular, psychotropic liturgy with all the time and space it needs to exist, and to carry us along in its current.

Megabasse atua no segundo dia do Festival Les Siestes 2026.

Pierre Bujeau é especialista em criar zonas de evasão temporárias — estruturas musicais para fugir do quotidiano. Por vezes, trabalha em conjunto com os misteriosos grupos franceses Omertà e Tanz Mein Herz, mas é quando está sozinho, a atuar como Megabasse, que oferece uma fuga mais completa da realidade, munido de dois amplificadores Fender e a sua guitarra de braço duplo.

Este instrumento remete normalmente para o excesso do rock’n’roll. Porém, nas mãos de Megabasse, torna-se mais parecido com uma cítara, produzindo padrões suaves e tilintantes que se acumulam até que o som, refletido entre os seus dois amplificadores, comece a esbater tudo, e nós nos vejamos transportados para outro mundo.

Megabasse for Festival of Endless Gratitude 2026!

MEGABASSE (FR)

Behind the moniker @megabasse_ stands French musician Pierre Bujeau. Also a member of groups Omertá and Tanz Mein Herz, Bujeau uses Megabasse as a long-form minimalist exploration of resonances and harmonics, creating an almost mystical, communal and uncanny space where time appears to break away from reality.

His approach is deceptively simple, as Bujeau picks up the double-necked guitar, an instrument that normally signals maximum rockist excess along the likes of Jimmy Page. In his hands, however, it transforms into something closer to a zither or a dulcimer, producing soft chiming patterns that build against themselves until the sound of the room, passed back and forth between his two amps, starts to blur everything.

"Pierre Bujeau is an expert at creating temporary escape zones - musical structures to evade the everyday. Sometimes he works collectively as part of the mysterious French groups Omertà and Tanz Mein Herz. But it’s when he’s on his own, performing as Megabasse, that he offers the most complete break from reality.
His kit is simple: a few bottles of cheap lager, twin Fender amps, and his double-necked guitar. An instrument like this normally signals maximum rockist excess - think Jimmy Page, Geddy Lee, or that dude from the Eagles. In Pierre’s hands, it becomes more like a zither or a dulcimer, producing soft chim-ing patterns that build against themselves until the sound of the room, passed back and forth between his two amps, starts to blur everything, and we are away in another world. Wait, though - let down your yoga bun and don’t light the palo santo yet. The new space he creates has nothing to do with smug well-ness. It’s a rough, do-it-yourself psychedelia, scuffed but hopeful. Not a perfect blank space to be your best self in, but instead a communal dreaming, an uncanny place where all are welcome."

After over two years, we're finally back in London, landing at Hackney's recently inaugurated @raleighchapel for two special shows. Welcoming self-taught musician Pierre Bujeau for his solo project @megabasse_ as well as composer @grady__steele who will premiere his latest work "Nausea", released on Felt earlier this year.

✿✿✿ Megabasse
Megabasse is the solo project of Pierre Bujeau when he is not playing with Omertà or Tanz Mein Herz. The setup, twin Fender amps, and his double-necked guitar would suggest heavy distortion sound walls, but it's quite the opposite — Through gentle repetition, Pierre carefully builds a tapestry of sound patterns that both unfold and interlace over time. On his 2019 LP "Discorde", The A-side, “à la Chapelle Sainte-Anne de Bricquebec,” was recorded within a Normandy chapel, while the B-side, “au Hangar à Dirigeables d’Ecausseville,” was captured in a historic airship hangar. On both side, it feels like the space the sound inhabits slowly folds into the music, a psychedelic and collective dream we're looking forward to welcome at Raleigh Chapel.

Composer, promoter and DJ, Grady Steele is the co-founder of the travelling rig Formant Soundsystem and runs the event series GS Presents in Paris since 2023 — Both projects responsible for providing space for forward-thinking dancefloors.
As a composer however, Grady's two releases, "Marsaskala" on Archaic Vaults and "Nausea" on Felt, emerge as bodies of work that feel profoundly personal and intimate. At Raleigh Chapel, Grady Steele will present "Nausea" for the first time. Released on Felt in April 2026, Nausea materializes as one of our favorite pieces of music this year, beautifully extending over seven movements, like a collection of vignettes, memories of loved ones as seen on a cathode ray tube television. taken in Stoke Newington by @megabasse_
