Exclusive: By the time Il Baracchino reached Prime Video, even its creators weren’t sure how it came to exist. A black-and-white, adult animated mockumentary made in Italy was hardly likely to make it to the screen. Born in a garage "studio," pitched on a live-action production lunch break, and written while already being animated, the series came together through timing, stubbornness, and a lot of improvisation. “Everybody, including us, considered it sort of a miracle.” We spoke with co-creator Nicolò Cucci about building a studio from scratch, breaking adult animation ground in Italy, and why 'Il Baracchino' is so different from anything made in the country before. Our feature and the full pilot are linked in bio. #animation by @megadragooo
