Cool s*** we’ve seen recently: web design edition.

We see a lot of websites every week. These are a few of the trends we’ve seen that deserve some recognition.

Day 2 recap at @aisummitbarcelona 💫

A few highlights worth typing out:

Across the board, people agree that creativity should not be delegated to AI. Human collaboration remains essential. @ferdialici says we should see AI as a collaborative friend, not a replacement decision maker.

We are still figuring out how to use ai. Nolwen from @holded.io shared how in automating sales funnels, ai is still making mistakes. We have a lot to learn across every industry and workflow.

Andreas Horn pointed out that the people who attend this conference are in their own bubble. 84% of the entire world has never used ai at all. And most people who do use it, use ChatGPT in their browser, nothing more. We are still very much at the beginning of everything.

The debate on European ai sovereignty had a pretty clear consensus: we cannot compete with the US frontier models (@openai and @claudeai), so we need to be strategic in both investment and regulation.

Myriam Ben Farhat from @wwwchesscom put it plainly: we are developing technology faster than humans are developing themselves. The next chapter belongs to humans who develop the ability to perceive, regulate, think, relate, decide, and act intentionally.

Closing on the economic side of ai highlighted how even those who are deeply involved in building and investing in ai simultaneously agree that the current ipo valuations are unsustainable.

I’m coming back from this conference with a better understanding of how the humans closest to ai actually feel about it. Needless to say, it is complicated.

Day 1 at @aisummitbarcelona ☄️

Some things I’m taking away from a day filled with a lot of presentations, coffee, and…robots.

@jeffgothelf said it best: cost used to be the filter for bad ideas. Now that building is basically free, the filter has to be judgment.

@shayamal, a performance coach who’s worked with Olympic athletes, pushed back on the whole language of “optimizing” people. Humans aren’t systems to optimize. And when the tech gets too seamless, the brain literally fires less. We drift away from ourselves.

Even the debate on autonomous agents ended with 78% of the room voting to keep a human in the loop! (Or as we say at Megamind Labs, creative in the loop)

So maybe the point isn’t removing every bit of effort. Some friction is where the meaning lives! We see this in a return to real life dating and human connection, explained by @maximebarbier, ceo of @timeleft

But the coolest thing I saw by far was @ouchhh’s musical experience. Creating art from brainwaves was not on my bingo card.
