the Madi family still need your help. As journalists are murdered less and less images will be coming out of Gaza. But the terror and starvation continues. Imagine trying to protect your child, your partner and yourself in such hellish circumstances. They need the means to buy any food available and any medicine available. Please keep donating to Alaa and her family. Link in bio.

Dublin Fringe Festival ~ 5th - 20th September, 📍

The Digital Hub is delighted to host 'An Cailigh Rua', an exhibition by artist, @megan_luddy as part of this year's @dublinfringefest.

Taking its name from the mealtime incantation “Marbhfhaisc ar an gcailligh rua”, destruction to the red-haired girl, this visual art exhibition explores Ireland’s rich but interrupted culture of cooking and the fraught position of women within it.

Through lace, painting, ceramics, 2D animation, patchwork, weaving and embroidery, @megan_luddy traces histories of hunger, labour, food, control and survival, from lace-making and the Magdalene laundries to dairy production and seafood foraging.

The exhibition will be available for public viewing at the Digital Depot at The Digital Hub, Dublin 8.

Exhibition Opening Hours:
Wednesday, 9th September - Saturday, 12th September, 10:00am - 6:00pm

For further information on the exhibition or the full festival programme, please visit @dublinfringefest's website.

beautiful beautiful roseland by @banrion___ is out now ❤️ there’s even a gorgeous music video for you to watch on YouTube ❤️ I was very happy to get to animate this little visualiser over an aerial photo of Róisín’s grandparents’ house ❤️ by @megan_luddy

these animations were made as part of a collaboration between @sllc_ucc , BRIJ, UCC students and community members seeking international protection in Cork. @sllc_ucc ran four workshops with these groups with the aim of building community, inclusivity, intercultural understanding and most of all having fun! ❤️
These animations are based on the final workshop; an open mic which was held on 28th March in UCC. The animations use audio taken from the open mic and draw from sketches I made on site at the open mic! by @megan_luddy
