POSTS STORIES REELS

Time is in our favour.

Thank you @wnorthconnect for the chance to talk shop. by @megandubs

Megan's (Audiobook) List from Q1 is as varied as Vancouver's "Spring-ter" weather.

1. The Names: A Novel by @florenceknapp_
The concept: What if you named your child a different name? How could it change the trajectory of your family’s life?
It’s a clever Sliding Doors meets parenting story - and a book I chose over podcasts every chance I had.

2. Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery
I started listening to this because it was free on Audible, and I wanted something to fall asleep to. Joke was on me: I was sleep-deprived all week. My adult appreciation for the language, the nostalgic charm of the story and @rachelmcadams narration made it too enchanting to drift off to.
YES. RACHEL MCADAMS.

3. The Correspondent: A Novel by @virginia.l.evans
This is making the rounds on my feed (you know it’s a good book when people post about it). It made me want to sit at a writing desk, writing randoms thoughtful details without being indulgent.

4. Cultish: The Language of Fanaticism by @amanda_montell
This explains how something as big like Jonestown can happen, and will likely put you off ever buying from or joining an MLM.

5. Good Inside: A Guide to Becoming the Parent You Want to Be by @drbecky
We're all a year older since I last read this - and similar to the first time, I felt like a smarter, better equipped parent and dare I say...person...after I'm done.

I’ve got nothing but gratitude. by @megandubs

10 years.

It hasn’t all been fun, but our power lunges to power ballads remain as strong and as committed as our vows.

…and you keep comin’ back for more… by @megandubs

Not all finish lines are measured equally.

The last race I signed up for, I was too sick to get to the start line (tumours up and down your wind pipe can do that)…and…I was about to start chemo (thank god).

But 2ish years later, I got to another start line.

And after taking big, sexy, unobstructed breathes for the whole 10kms - crossing this finish line felt pretty spectacular.

It wasn’t my best time, but my god it was the best time.

Never taking start lines and friends who are healthy enough to show up and go for granted ever again. by @megandubs

Stellar marketing is learned, earned and practiced — and when authors get it right, I pump my fist and shout some kind of non-literary sports reference like… “Kobe!”

A few TSPA authors had VERY big media weekend (@aliciaduncanwrites @beginaben) - and we’ve got a breakdown on:

👌🏽Why it went so well for them
🫵🏼 How you can get the same results

"The future of publishing is being shaped by conversations like these."

The International Publishing Conference is a one-day masterclass on the publishing industry, offering hard-to-access information and opportunities that are not found anywhere else.

Quite *literally* there isn't a conference like this, at this size, with these people, anywhere.

Arriving in Toronto in 2027 at the @globeandmailcentre.

Early-bird tickets are available now with only 38 tickets remaining at our lowest ticket price.

“Where have we not been that’s two hours from Vancouver?”

The Yukon! 🦌

50 hours in and out of the wild.

We don’t agree on everything, but this trip confirmed we do agree on two things:

🦬 We still really like each other
🫎48 hours in Whitehorse is enough for us

Phewf.

Here’s to another 10 years then. by @megandubs

We’re either wrinkling time, or just very, very lucky to live it again (and again).

—
Carol Shields said something to the effect of — “If you’re lucky, life is long.

And if we choose, we can do so many things with the time we have.”

For me - these pictures are a reminder of how many moments we get to have, with decades in between them.)

I love that for us.

Also — if you’re double taking Madi for Eva and Eva for Madi, we are too. 😍 by @megandubs

Good news for parents. Good news for publishers.

This principle is singing my song.

For those of you who are teachers and have worked education - does this ring true for you, too?
