‘Tis the season for seedlings and for seeding. Even if it’s currently snowing in Syracuse.

What a needed boost to learn that one of my images earned an Honorable Mention recognition in Click & Company’s Best Black & White Photographer Awards 2024.

This morning they announced this year's winners for The Voice competition through Click Pro Photographers. There were over 40,000 images entered this year. I received a Click Choice award and an Honorable Mention in the “Color" category. There were 15 best in category winners, 45 finalists, and just over 500 honorable mentions. I'm so grateful to be included in this group of very talented photographers. Thank you
@click.magazine and @clickprophotographers and congratulations to all the winners❤️

Please head to the link in my bio to see all the incredible images. There’s not much more magical than being able to see the world though so many others’ eyes ❤️ taken in Stones Throw Farm by @meganluton

Wildflowers and wildfires.

Our New York skies have been hazy but our hearts go out to our indigenous and Canadian neighbors to the north who are most affected and to the brave first responders who are on the front lines helping to contain fires and evacuate communities.

Like father, like son. With a little help driving from a friend. Hundreds of squash and melon transplants transplanted.

This is how families farm.

It may be the season to be freezin’ but in our high tunnel, the green of the greens reminds us that it won’t stay dark and cold forever.

Here’s to brighter days to come.

We thought that we might be losing this old girl last week. It was a hard week. But she rallied and rested and seems to have sprung back. She’s our resident farm dog, our children’s childhood pup and the common denominator in our family. We all adore her and are just so grateful that she’s still around to beg for belly rubs.

Timber.

Gosh this time came quickly.

Hard to believe that Christmas is only a few days away and the new year is next week. Didn’t get the cards mailed (or printed). A knitted gift is still on my needles. Got the ingredients for cookies that have not yet been baked. But we’ve cut our tree and trimmed it with the memories of childhood and family and Christmases past. And for now, that’s good enough.

Wishes of peace and joy to all who celebrate 🌲

And that’s a wrap on our fall season here on the farm. Just a few pie pumpkins left in the bin and only a few days left until Thanksgiving. Grateful for the change of seasons and a moment to reflect on all that we have to be thankful for 🧡
