“The Ring” v10 - we weren’t sure if this was gonna go after the flexy crimp jug ripped off on Saturday. Luckily it left a decent edge, which was a little closer for the move up to it, but added a red point crux bump move at the very end! Not sure what the end felt like with the crimp before but now there’s a little spice! Fell on that move from the bottom on Saturday and didn’t have enough skin for more goes…came back yesterday after work with some new skin and ripped it first go from the bottom 🌞

Mainly got psyched to try this after seeing other girls crush it before me @monimck5 and @nicolemaksi !! by @meganmchaplin

On a mission to grow back my skin after only climbing in the gym this summer…not quite temps yet but it feels like it’s getting close…
“Hueco Crimper left entrance”, wrote off wanting to try this one since I’d already done the standard “low” years ago, but the intro moves are pretty fun! And nice to do on a solo day! by @meganmchaplin

“Thunderdome”!!! Grateful for the clouds yesterday…and for the psych from @don.wahl and @d_bryce_ .
Also thanks to @swanseamo for planting the seed in my mind that this climb was possible for short lady climbers.

Wasn’t really on my radar to try this season…but very psyched to land here, figure it out, and put it together, one of the sickest in Leavenworth!! by @meganmchaplin

“Smoke & Mirrors” (v10) - Took advantage of some amazing conditions out in Spokane this weekend! Been fun to switch up the scenery and climb on some rocks with good crimps and more than a couple moves!! A banger put up by @ntansy ! Aside from the slightly dabby rock, the combo of crimps/underclings and very tension-y feet was awesome! Had to do the full commit to the sick jug at the end. Psyched!

And some climbing from this past month! It’s a special winter when we get to go out to Squamish (twice!)!
1. Warp Spasm - those slimpers reminded me of Twister. The far left one looks like it’s on the verge of breaking, which would def make this climb feel easier.
2. Airtight Garage - short and sweet
3. Missing in Action - just straight fun
Ok a couple of recent board climbs, too:
4. Broken faces in this nightmare world at 50° - if you’re tall this climb is much easier (classic). I liked the cut tho!
5. Smelly in the cellar at 50° - fun jumps!
6. Discus at 40° - cool! by @meganmchaplin

This past month has been a whirlwind! I decided to take a break from social media to keep myself focused on finishing up my student teaching/Master’s degree! And I did it! I managed to fit in some outside time as I could. Some photos from a couple of hikes and random moments from the last month..
- Marten Creek with my dad
- a couple from North Beach. Fun fact: Ms. Wilder was my teacher in 4th/5th grade. It was a crazy experience to have her as my mentor teacher for my student teaching. Full circle!
-Boeing creek
-a jaunt up to Kelcema Lake! I 💗 the Mountain Loop.

Here’s to hoping for more snow in the mountains.. but I’m also kinda ready for Spring? by @meganmchaplin

Grateful to climb and get on top of some rocks this past Sunday!! Days out have been few and far between this past month with rain/student teaching/school. It was so refreshing to bop around and try some new moves! Here’s to hoping for some more weather windows 🌞
