🎶 MEET THE BADASS NASHVILLE BROADS: MEGAN PALMER 🎶

Our Badass Nashville Broads residency is officially in action—and the concert is TOMORROW NIGHT!

For our fourth and final artist introduction, meet Megan Palmer!

Nashville based Megan Palmer grew up playing music alongside her Grandfather, who gave her both her first piano lesson and his father's violin. She went on to study music and nursing at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. She has toured extensively over the years in a variety of musical acts, including fronting her own band as a singer-songwriter. Recently she was the Musical Director for the touring show ‘Trailblazing Women of Country: the Music of Patsy, Dolly and Loretta’ which visited over 40 cities across the country. She is continuously mesmerized by the healing power of music!

Megan joins Sophie Gault, Stacy Antonel, and Coralee for a residency bringing working Nashville artists directly into our classrooms, conversations, and creative spaces—and tomorrow night, onto the Miller Theatre stage!

🎸 BADASS NASHVILLE BROADS: Next up in our Badass Nashville Broads artist spotlight - Sophie Gault!

A Nashville-based singer-songwriter making her mark in Americana and roots music.

Sophie Gault is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter working in the Americana and roots genre. She has released multiple albums, including her latest, UNHINGED (2026), recorded live with a band to capture a direct, performance-driven sound.

UNHINGED reached #2 on the alt-country chart and landed in the Americana Top 20. The album’s most-streamed track is her version of Gurf Morlix’s “Is There Anyone Out There,” recorded at Arlyn Studio in Austin, Texas.

Gault has performed at venues such as Robert’s Western World and appeared on the Outlaw Country Cruise. She has also contributed background vocals to several Americana recordings, including Gabe Lee’s Drink the River and Lucinda Williams’ Stories from a Rock n Roll Heart.

She is an active touring artist with a focus on building audience through live performance and consistent release of original material.

And she’s bringing that real-world experience to Alfred. 🎶

As part of the Badass Nashville Broads residency, Sophie will work directly with AU students in Music Production—sharing what it means to create, record, release, and build a life as a working artist today.

Next up in our Badass Nashville Broads artist spotlight: Coralee.

Now based in Nashville, Coralee still carries her Versailles, Kentucky roots into her music. After nearly a decade fronting Coralee and the Townies, she built a songwriting style that pairs raw, confessional storytelling with music made for the barroom dance floor.

As a solo artist, that storytelling has become even more personal—honest, relatable, and unafraid of the quieter truths. Today, backed by a trusted band, Coralee brings all sides of that musical identity together: country and city, bold and tender, confession and celebration.

For me, releasing Forget Me Not was the first time I admitted to myself I wanted to be an artist. Prior to that, I was playing in bands, being a musician, and learning so much about what I wanted/didn’t want to do. I think for the early part of my life, I didn’t know that I could WANT something - I had spent most of my time thus far reacting to the environment I was in.
