Mourning shroud 🥀🥀🥀 #ootd
Extremely grateful for this special opportunity to see my queen @ladygaga perform Mayhem front to back as a traditional requiem, especially while I'm actively grieving both of my parents 🕊️
I found myself in tears unexpectedly. Not unusual these days.
Thank you @applemusic @thewiltern

The incredible trip @jlmnlo and I just took to the Maldives was so much more than a holiday. It was a life-changing exposure to not only the awe-inspiring bounty of the ocean, but the heart-wrenching pain we humans are causing the gentle creatures who call it home.

Watching the @reefscapersmaldives work tirelessly to rehabilitate turtles maimed by fishing nets, propagate coral after a devastating storm wiped out a large swath, and educate people on how they can help offset the seemingly limitless damage of the climate crisis, I realized I was witnessing both the worst and the best of humanity at once. I'm newly inspired to help heal the hurt we've wrought, and to do as much as I can to protect these innocent creatures.

My dad loved the ocean and the beach, so it felt fitting to dedicate our little coral propagation frame to him. I felt his love for life and laughter all throughout this trip, and I hope his spirit is somewhere smiling. I hope he's proud.

✨✨2023✨✨
A small but monumental piece of this year: burying my dad at Arlington National Cemetery. A very short trip, but a profound one for reasons both obvious and more subtle. Beauty and joy in the midst of sorrow. A powerful symbol for the entire year as I reflect back. 🤍🕊️ taken in Arlington National Cemetery by @megbeebee

Hiked over a mile uphill, almost gave up, followed the call inside (and the literal calls outside) and finally found a wild toucan. A highlight that equaled watching a group of wild macaws circle and swoop around us on the beach at @arenasdelmarcr 😭
Did you know macaws mate for life?
