After my first solo HYROX, I struggled to put into words the emotions I felt. I felt anger, disappointment, gratitude, and success all at the same time.

My goal was to finish under 1:30.

Two weeks leading up to the race, my knee started hurting, not the normal “in your 30s knee pain” 🙃 but real pain. I tried to take it easy and did the right recovery work, but I knew one thing, I was not going to stop. I was still competing in Vegas.

I finished in 1:31.

When I crossed the finish line, tears came rushing out carrying every emotion with them.

I am so dang proud of myself for pushing my body to levels of strength you sometimes forget you have within you.

Almost three years ago, I began my fitness journey as a mom. I weighed 115 pounds with no muscle tone. I tried to run around my neighborhood pushing my 12 month old in a stroller and could only make it half a mile. Everything on me was jiggling. I remember that day vividly and telling myself, this stops today. I will be strong. My son will have a mom he can look up to.

So I made the choice to become strong. I may have missed my goal by a minute and a few seconds… but this journey is so much bigger than a time on the clock.

This mom is getting stronger every single day. 💕💪🏼

I don’t brag much….but this one I will.

My wife Megan completed HYROX Las Vegas. solo. No shortcuts. Just discipline and heart.

I’ve seen the early mornings, the sore days, the moments she didn’t feel like it but showed up anyway. I’ve seen the highs and the hard seasons. Through it all, God has kept us steady.

She didn’t just finish a race, she proved something to herself.

Beyond proud of you, Meg 🫶🏽

First HYROX ✔️

Bestie and I really said “let’s try something new” and accidentally entered the Hunger Games of fitness 😭🔥

AND WE LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT🫶🏼

Still riding on the high from the race!

Words can’t even express how proud I am of my bestie and myself. We pushed each other to new limits and showed up stronger than we ever imagined.

Extra thankful for my husband that supports my goals and tells me to breathe through your nose 🫶🏼🤣

Top 15% finish… let’s goooo. 🔥💪

Next goal finish under 1:10 🏋️‍♀️

He is the perfect combination of spunk, compassion, empathy, love, strong-willed, and humor.

His is a big lover of Jesus, cars, tractors, bugs, animals, and his family and friends.

His emotional intelligence is off the charts for a three year old. Everyday this sweet child amazes me. I couldn’t be more proud or blessed to be YOUR mommy.

My favorite noun is mother — a woman in relation to her child or children. Each day I choose to make that noun into a verb. Mother — bring up (a child) with care and affection. Some days your cup overflows with love and other days it takes every last ounce out of your body, but at the end of the day there is not one soul on this earth that I could love more than you my son.
