A girl born in Kitale with a physical disability, she has been through it all. Walking into a moment I never expected… the cheers, the love and the energy🥹
This walk was for two women who carried me long before the world ever noticed me, my late mom and my late grandma. My forever heroes.

In snoop's words, I want to thank me for believing in me, for doing all this hard work, for having no days off, for never quitting, for always being a giver and for just being me. God is good all the time! @lorealparisea thank you so much for making a girl's dream come true.

I am grateful that God has been truly good to me.

A girl born with one leg never imagined she would one day appear on one of the biggest television platforms @citizentvkenya. Today, I stand as a reminder that authenticity, courage and self belief can open doors we once thought were impossible.

To anyone struggling with self-esteem or self-acceptance: it’s okay to feel that way, but don’t stay there. Your story is valuable. Your voice matters. Your journey has an impact.

Keep moving forward. Keep showing up. The top has room for you too. Thank you, @serfine_achieng
And if you’ve been waiting for a sign, here it is.

Being on the panel at the just concluded KISE Conference was more than just having a seat at the table, it was an opportunity to speak about the kind of change I believe in.

I shared on the importance of Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) and how we can strengthen support for persons with disabilities beyond simply providing assistive devices.

Rehabilitation should not end when someone receives a prosthesis or mobility device. It should include community support, psychosocial wellbeing, follow-up, inclusion, access to opportunities and the confidence to fully participate in society.

But beyond rehabilitation, we also need to change the narrative around disability.
PWDs are not defined by their disabilities. We are professionals, parents, creatives, leaders, entrepreneurs, fashion lovers, authors, advocates and so much more.

The goal is not just to make society more accessible for PWDs, but to create a society where PWDs are seen, heard, included and given the opportunity to thrive.

Grateful to circleg and KISE for the opportunity to contribute to this important conversation. We have a lot of work to do and I’m proud to be part of the change.

Confidence didn’t come overnight. ❤️

@megchesoli found it by accepting herself, embracing who she is, and choosing to see her difference as part of her story, not something to hide.
And along the way, she discovered something else: confidence grows when you use it to create a positive impact around you and in your community.
Sometimes, finding yourself is the first step to helping others find themselves too. 🦿✨
How did you find your confidence?

Sometimes, impact is not measured by how many people know your name, but by how one person feels after meeting you.
Recently, I met a young girl with a limb difference whose bubbly smile reminded me of my younger self. We shared a meal, laughed and created a beautiful memory.

As I watched her, I thought about the little girl I once was, a girl who needed to see someone like herself, someone who could remind her that her difference was not a limitation on her worth.
I did not always have someone to hold my hand through those moments. Today, I want to be that person for another child.

My advocacy goes beyond raising awareness. It is about creating moments where children with limb differences feel seen, loved, accepted and confident enough to embrace who they are.

I want them to grow up knowing that they do not have to shrink themselves to fit into the world. If I can make even one child feel less alone, more confident or more hopeful about their future, then I know my story is serving a purpose beyond me.

I want to turn the hand I once needed into the hand I now extend to others. That, to me, is impact. by @megchesoli

Happy new month, lovelies!

May October bring you closer to the dreams you’ve been working towards, the opportunities you’ve been praying for and the beautiful moments you deserve.

May we keep showing up for ourselves, embracing every step of the journey and never stop believing in what is possible.

Do you ever repeat your outfits? 👀

Yes, I do! 😂 I don’t believe in wearing an outfit once and never touching it again. I love styling my pieces differently, changing the shoes, accessories, layering or simply wearing them in a completely new way.

For me, fashion isn’t about having endless clothes. It’s about creativity, confidence and expressing yourself with what you already have.

So yes, I repeat my outfits… I just give them a different vibe every time. by @megchesoli

To me, confidence is not about being fearless or having everyone approve of you. It’s about knowing who you are and choosing to show up as yourself anyway.

It’s wearing the dress I love.
It’s showing my prosthetic leg without hiding.
It’s walking into a room knowing I belong.
It’s embracing my disability, my style, my story and every part of me.

Confidence is no longer shrinking myself to make other people comfortable.
This is what confidence means to me.

Two authors, two disability advocates and two women who decided that our disabilities would never be the reason we shrink ourselves.

Walking along the coast in our shorts, laughing, talking, creating memories and yes, noticing the stares. But this time, the stares didnt stop us. We kept walking, because we know who we are, we know the stories we carry and we know the difference we want to make.

From writing our stories to living them boldly, we remind each other that disability is not something to hide, it is part of our story, not the limit of it.

Here is to friendship, confidence, beauutiful memories and taking up space exactly as we are. by @megchesoli
