Into the portal… A few weeks ago I had a magical, pivotal experience shooting with @lexibirdphotography at Alloutopia, an underwater photography retreat. An unexpected surprise occurred when Alexis allowed me to use her underwater rig and turn the camera on her! I’ve never photographed underwater before, and there are certainly some tricks to it, but under @lexibirdphotography ‘s tutelage, I learned a lot and came up with some really exciting images. In fact, I’ve learned so much from this woman as I’ve worked with her over the years, and especially recently as I’ve helped her grow her photography business. I’m inspired and in awe of her talent both behind and in front of the camera (modeling as @lexibirdbones ), and as a mother and businesswoman who has exhibited resilience, strength, and determination with the utmost positive outlook and enthusiasm, no matter what is thrown her way. This photo, to me, speaks to the crossing over of multiple dimensions, exploring the creative possibilities that are out there, reaching for the light. #alloutopia #underwaterphotography #silentfilm #blackandwhite taken in Boyertown, Pennsylvania by @megeubank

Inspired by the many stolen onions from the cabinet when I was a kid. Peel the onion back, find a sweeter layer. Devour life vigorously. *Costume created by me. *Incredible photography by the goddess @megeubank !! #norse #norsemythology #originalcostume #onionshavelayers #viking by @megeubank

I had to work all day so I’m just getting around to posting now… (my work doesn’t believe in Columbus OR indigenous people apparently). In honor of Indigenous People’s Day, I’m sharing this photo taken at Aquetong Spring, an important Lenni Lenape site (clear spring water fed a village there). Later colonial land grant “treaties” put the spring into colonist hands and eventually the spring fed businesses (mills and such) during the Industrial Revolution. Today it retains the Lenape name “Aquetong” which comes from a word that meant “spring among the bushes,” so in an ironically perfect twist, the modern name of Aquetong Spring park is redundant, meaning the Spring Among the Bushes Spring Park. But it’s a nice park and at least it’s not a housing development. Plus there are historical markers so you get to learn about the long history of the area. Thanks for listening to my TED talk. The talented @1981photo took this photograph. I am the model. #indigenouspeoplesday #aquetong #buckscountyhistory #newhopepa taken in Aquetong Spring by @megeubank

Yes, of course you’re being haunted by the Doans. And probably by Spider-Man, too. #doangang #doans #buckscountyhistory #revolutionarywar #colonial taken in Gardenville, Pennsylvania by @megeubank
