When’s the last time you extracted yourself from the current system that runs on speed, competition, hierarchy, and dominance? How would it feel to step into a bubble ever so briefly where you are permitted to live with presence, curiosity, kindness, and even joy?

After a wise friend encouraged me to go, I admittedly was hesitant, and still made the commitment to four days away from schedules and productivity in a guided retreat. While there I was able to reflect, heal, create, and connect.

As change agents trying to generate more peace, care, and justice within the system, of course we can feel depleted and defeated all too often. We need space and time out of the work and out of the system to remember who we are.

Tonight I was proud to show up for Maryland State Senator @katiefryhestermd9 . ❤️ This brilliant woman is having a big impact on our state and our country leading by example on education, internet access, AI, renewable energy, climate adaptation, reproductive rights, and more. If you too want to feel hope and inspiration, support her campaign. This week I gathered with women and a few men from higher ed in communion for Gaia at the @allwecansave Climate Wayfinding Workshop. For me it was all about being in community with spirit filled women and feminine forward men, and holding space for despair and empowerment simultaneously. Thank you to @allwecansave for bringing us together for this challenging heart-forward work.

You gave us the tools and the time to grieve the loss of life on Earth as we know it, begin to heal, and find strength in one another to invite and receive a feminine, reciprocal, relational future. Personal healing, social healing, and healing the planet are intertwined.

I leave the four day workshop with even more clear resolve to bring my humility, invest in authentic relationships across socially constructed divides, and build justice with my feminine forward siblings.

@drkwilkinson and @ayanaeliza thank you for your vision from @allwecansave … for articulating and bringing into our collective consciousness the conceptual approach to healing in the climate crisis through truth, courage, solutions, and love. by @meghanchapple

During this winter break, I am indulging in long morning meditations. When I’m in my seat the sun shines on me, until the same time each day when the planet slowly moves through it’s rotation, then this tree is in front of the sun for a brief minute. Call me ridiculous, but this brings me a giggle, delight, joy - to be fully present for and to experience the rotational rhythm! Daily miracles. by @meghanchapple

Today I am grateful for the Christmas gift of gravity - thank you Gaia for keeping me connected and empowered.
As the descendant of immigrants standing on the the stolen lands of the Piscataway Conoy Tribal Nation, I reflect on the corners of European earth where my ancestors were rooted and celebrated the winter season in communal spiritual practice. I am grateful for my Irish, English, Ukrainian, and Polish ancestors. I honor them for the gifts they have bestowed upon me: my Irish for connection with the wildness of Spirit; my English for the humbling reminder to repair it’s legacy of white supremacy; my Ukrainian for fierce resilience; my Polish for an expansive heart. May I use them wisely to bring more peace and love into my life. by @meghanchapple
