I’m not even kidding when I say this man might have been preparing for this job his ENTIRE LIFE.

The man is quick on his feet, knows how to command a room, can handle confrontation, and has NEVER ONCE been afraid to say exactly what he’s thinking.

Media training?! HE IS THE MEDIA TRAINING. 😂

He understands headlines, knows how to work a camera, can turn a disaster into a viral moment, and could probably have the entire White House press corps questioning their own career choices before lunch.

And let’s not forget… this man survived reality television when reality television had absolutely NO RULES. You think a few tough questions from CNN are gonna rattle Spencer Pratt?! 🤣

He’d have a reporter asking one question, answer three they didn’t ask, somehow win the argument, and have the whole thing trending on TikTok before the briefing was over.

I’m just saying… give that man a podium, a microphone, and a White House security clearance.

THE PRESS BRIEFINGS WOULD BECOME MUST-SEE TELEVISION. 💀🇺🇸

And for the first time in my life, I’d be setting an alarm to watch C-SPAN. 😂

The moment your daughter says, “Watch me,” and you realize she’s about to turn a cheer stunt into a full-blown lesson in confidence, courage, and commitment. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂📣

Somewhere between “I’ve got this, Mama” and “Lord, please let her stick the landing,” I realized this was about to be one of those moments I’d remember forever.

For context, Mary Tate is a BASE/BACK SPOT girl. She’s the one HOLDING people in the air—not typically the one BEING held in the air.

But for Senior Recognition Night, all the senior cheerleaders got their moment to fly.

And ALL WEEK LONG, MT had been informing me that she was going to do a heel stretch.

Me, internally: Ma’am. You do a beautiful heel stretch ON THE GROUND, where the Lord intended your feet to be. 😳

Me, externally: “Are you sure about that?”

Mary Tate: “Watch me.”

Well.

I watched.

SHE WENT UP. SHE GRABBED THAT FOOT. SHE HIT THAT HEEL STRETCH. AND I COULDN’T HAVE BEEN MORE PROUD. 😂🙌

And just like that, another one of those senior-year moments I wish I could bottle up and keep forever. 🥹❤️

One thing about this girl… when she makes up her mind she’s going to do something, you’d better just get out of her way.

She said, “Watch me.”

And I hope she never stops believing she can. ❤️

❤️💙 Married into a die-hard Ole Miss family. I didn’t just marry a man. I married into an entire SEC lifestyle. Somewhere along the way, I fully embraced the madness, learned to say HOTTY TODDY with conviction, and now act like I’ve been a Rebel my whole life. 😂

❤️🤍 And then there’s Mississippi State playing LSU. Am I a Bulldog fan? Absolutely not. But will I be yelling “I NEED MORE COWBELL” if it means LSU takes an L? YOU BET YOUR SWEET MAGNOLIA I WILL! 🔔🤣

At this point, my football loyalty requires a flowchart, three outfit changes, and possibly a psychological evaluation.

HOTTY TODDY.. TO THE TOP! AND FOR THIS ONE SATURDAY… HAIL FREAKING STATE! 🔴🔵🖤💛🔔

Mississippi football fans, WHERE ARE YOU AT?! And more importantly… can we all agree that cheering AGAINST somebody is sometimes just as much fun as cheering FOR somebody?! 😂🏈

Mercer Beckett looked me dead in the face yesterday and asked:

“Can we go ahead and put up the Christmas decorations?”

And in that moment, I knew. That is MY child. 😂🎄

Now, in appearance? Absolutely not. That child looks nothing like me. Genetics took one look at my contribution and said, “We won’t be needing this.”

But personality? COPY. PASTE.

The older he gets, the more I see it. Type A. Likes things neat. Likes things a certain way. Has a mind that works so much like mine it’s honestly a little concerning. 😂

And one of my absolute favorite things about him is our Bible study at night. Me and that boy hold church before bed. 🙌🏻 He doesn’t just want to hear a Bible story and call it a night, either. Oh no. Mercer has QUESTIONS. Deep questions. Follow-up questions. “But why?” questions. “Okay, but what does THAT mean?” questions. We can get ourselves three theological rabbit holes deep when we were supposed to be in bed 30 minutes ago. 😂 And I love every second of it. Watching him genuinely want to understand God’s Word is one of my favorite parts of watching him grow up.

But yesterday I discovered another very important personality trait we apparently share:

The boy LOVES Christmas. So I had to explain the rules.

Me: “Baby, Halloween ain’t even here yet.”

Mercer: 😐

Me: “BUT…on November 1st, we can make it look like Christmas THREW UP IN HERE.”

Mercer: “Deal.”

🤝🎄😂

And just like that, a sacred mother-son bond was established.

So y’all enjoy October. Carve your pumpkins. Watch your scary movies. Do all your little fall things.

Because at 12:01 a.m. November 1st, Mercer and I will be reporting for duty.

🎄 Tree? UP.
🎄 Garland? EVERYWHERE.
🎄 Lights? OBNOXIOUS.
🎄 Christmas music? Mariah is DEFROSTED.
🎄 Adam Lee’s opinion on whether it’s “too early”? NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING PUBLIC COMMENT.

I have finally found my Christmas decorating partner.

Much longer post coming with way more pictures… but I’m tired, boss. 😂❤️

Today we celebrated my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary, and my heart is so incredibly full.

My brother said it best today when he said it was God’s providence that brought them together all those years ago. And because He did, we were given a childhood filled with an immense amount of love. We grew up in a home where we never had to question whether we were loved, where we were taught about Jesus every single day, and where faith and family were at the center of everything.

Looking back now, I realize just how extraordinarily and richly blessed our childhood truly was.

Mama and Daddy, there simply aren’t enough words for how much we love you or how thankful we are for the life you built for us. For the sacrifices we saw and the ones we probably never knew about. For the example you set. For the laughter, the memories, the traditions, the faith, and the kind of love that made home always feel like home.

I don’t know that I have ever been more proud or more grateful that God saw fit to let me be born into your family.

I love you both more than words could ever say or actions could ever show.

Thank you for everything.

For all of it.
