I'm coming up on one year alcohol free soon and I've got a lot feelings. There's still work to do - but my life is better than it was. A part of me didn't, and occasionally doesn't, believe I could have something better. But here I am! With more compassion and humanity than I've ever known before! To all y'all that faced challenges in 2020-21, you're celebrating with me now. I will stand witness to how hard you've worked. I'm proud of you. by @megoparr

It has been four years since my last drink. Today, I am grateful for the scared and desperate person I have been. I'm grateful for the resilient person I have become. And I'm grateful for the hopeful person I will always be.

I used to think I was doomed to be nothing more than a statistic - that I would never learn to live, even though it seemed everyone else intuitively knew how. But at least 1 in 10 folks in the U.S. struggle with substance use; at least 1 in 3 attorneys struggle with "problem drinking." One of the greatest things I've learned is this: even at my loneliest, I was never alone.

It has been 75 days since I finished the bar exam. Schrödinger's graduate is not my best look and this process absolutely needs to change. However, I've got a whole team of people helping me stay busy! Reminding me that it may seem bad now, but that isn't forever! Hecka grateful. by @megoparr

Nov. 2021-Feb. 2022 // I've been seasonally affected as heck these past few months. Cold, long nights with big changes coming when warm days return. Uncertainty about what comes next. But I am LOVED -- even (and especially) when I don't feel deserving of it. For all my beautiful friends feeling shitty and unworthy, please know I'm loving you fiercely from my depression pit.
