Let us all be like the self-insisting rose, not the sacrificial ant or the bee.✨

can i just tell them we’re childhood friends, that we grew up together? i know it’s not true, but so much of me is you now so how else do i explain it? that you showed up at my door on a random tuesday, crying, after we’d only met once, and just handed me your whole heart?

none of it makes sense unless it was something bigger than us. divine intervention, maybe.

i didn’t get to grow up with you, but i do get to grow old with you. and honestly, that’s all i need to remind myself on the darkest days — that i got you, and i get to love you with my whole chest without ever worrying.

you’re my other half and then, my whole heart.
