Ensemble am Kissel — Thüringer Forst, 2026
COMPETITION - Honorable Mention,

Landscape design together with @studio_erde The design for the Ensemble am Kissel grows from the idea of a clearing in the forest — Jagdhaus, horse stable, and forest inn all oriented toward a shared open center. By demolishing later additions, the built volume is reduced and 42% of the outdoor area unsealed, allowing sparing, targeted interventions in the existing buildings instead of a full renovation.
Around the clearing, the forest edge is deliberately densified — a key move that gives the open center its spatial definition and strengthens the ensemble's setting within the state forest.

Schuppen D - Altenburger Land, 2025

Over the past few years, we've designed and built several garden houses and sheds. This one combines an existing part with old concrete bricks and large gates that tie old and new together.

Vom Gefängnis zum Ort für alle, Kiel 2026
CONCEPT STUDY

The design limits itself to a single intervention in the historic façade: a new dormer, marking the building's new address and referencing the original gate and watchhouse use. The existing arcade is extended toward the street through a new, unsealed forecourt — a public, participatory gesture.
Inside, service spaces are bundled to the sides, keeping the multifunctional event space open and flexible. A vaulted timber roof structure, reminiscent of a boat hull in a shipyard, opens the room upward and gives it its own architectural expression.
For us, the project is a spatial reinterpretation — turning the site's historically burdened spaces into a pioneering use that carries the area positively into its future.
But sadly we lost this one.

A Bauhaus Bathroom — Gropius Villa, Lincoln (MA) 2026
COMPETITION

Our competition entry for a small restroom addition at the Gropius Villa is guided by a radical idea of continuation: the existing structure is not treated as a limitation, but as a valuable resource — used, respected, and kept legible.
At the heart of the interior is a wall painting by artist Claudia Wieser, created in close collaboration with us — a fusion of art and architecture in the spirit of the Bauhaus as a collaborative practice.
The addition sits quietly beside the existing garage, clarifying the arrival sequence while keeping the historic sightline to the villa open. A generous canopy and a long bench form a minimal, welcoming gesture.
Built in solid timber using local wood and without cement, the addition continues the existing natural stone wall as its foundation. Rainwater from both roofs is collected, filtered, and used for the sanitary facilities inside.

Haus O - Leipzig, 2024

We remodeled and renovated a small house with a narrow structure.
The project focused on improving spatial qualities and strengthening the relationship between the interior and the large garden.
A central aspect of the renovation was the reconfiguration of the oversized stairwell. Instead of remaining a purely functional circulation space, it was integrated into the living areas and became a connective element within the house, contributing to spatial continuity and everyday use.

Haus V/II - Leipzig, 2025
After completing the renovation of the existing extension at Haus Vogt in 2019, we returned a few years later to add two small garden structures – a storage space and a sauna – nestled within the surrounding garden.
