Are you imaging the upper eyelid in symptomatic contact lens patients?

In this clip, Dr. Paul Karpecki explains why upper eyelid meibography may be one of the most important predictors of long-term contact lens success.

Because the lower lid is easier to assess, upper lid imaging is often overlooked.

“If you’re not imaging the upper eyelid in your symptomatic contact lens patients, you may be missing the key predictor of long-term success.”

Upper lid imaging shouldn’t be one of them.

Meivertor™ enables controlled, single-handed upper-lid eversion, leaving your other hand free to operate the imaging device. With a more predictable approach to eversion, upper lid imaging can become a consistent part of your ocular surface evaluation—even on the busiest days.

Are you a doctor or an optometrist, ophthalmologist or emergency doctor? Then you know that everting the eyelids is a quick but crucial step when checking for an eye foreign body.
Why? Tiny particles often hide under the upper lid on the palpebral conjunctiva. Every blink scrapes them across the cornea like sandpaper — causing ongoing pain and scratches.
A normal-looking front of the eye doesn't mean the problem is gone.
Pro tip: Use the Meivertor for easy single-handed lid eversion. It keeps one hand free to remove the foreign body safely and efficiently.
