TONIGHT AT ROYAL PALMS SHUFFLEBOARD CLUB! 🖤🎧

We’re incredibly grateful to the wonderful people at @royalpalmschicago for welcoming us in tonight for a special fundraiser set during league night!

For those who don’t know, both Mel and I will be behind the decks tonight, going B2B and sharing the music, the energy, and hopefully a whole lot of good vibes.

We’re still struggling to fully wrap our heads around what happened. Having an unthinkable amount of DJ / audio equipment and personal belongings stolen has taken an incredible financial and emotional toll on us.

This goes far beyond replacing equipment. It’s the disruption to our lives, the uncertainty of what comes next, and the emotional weight of having so much of what we’ve worked to build suddenly taken away. We’re simply trying to rebuild our lives, find some stability, and move forward.

Our GoFundMe is still active (link in bio). To everyone who has already donated, shared our fundraiser, reached out, or shown us kindness along the way: thank you. Truly. It means more to us than we could ever put into words. ❤️

If you’re in the area tonight, come hang, grab a drink, and dance with us! 🌴🦩🍹🎶

We’d love to see you there! ❣️ by @mel.senese

$50,000 worth of music equipment and personal belongings. Gone. Just like that.

On Friday, October 23, me and my partner found out our storage unit had been burglarized, along with several others at the facility. Someone cut our lock, stole the equipment we depend on to make a living, and replaced the lock to conceal the break-in (these burglaries had even going on for a week or so undetected 😞)

And before we even had time to process it, we had gigs to work. So we showed up all weekend, put smiles on our faces, and entertained crowds while our world was falling apart behind the scenes.

What breaks my heart most is watching Lexi go through this. She spent 15 years building her DJ career, working countless events and reinvesting everything into something she loved. She’s also been my biggest supporter, always showing up for my dreams. Watching someone so hardworking and giving lose so much is absolutely devastating.

And I’m f*ing angry. I’m exhausted by how difficult it has become just to survive. We’re told to follow the rules, get a real job and work hard, build stability… etc etc etc

I did that. I built a career, lost my job, and spent nearly two years trying to find another one and then realized F THAT, If no one wants to invest in me and believe in me, I’m going to invest in myself and follow my actual dreams. So I turned to music full-time, worked my ass off, and invested in building a livelihood doing what I love. Holy sh*t has this been hard….

Only to have THAT taken away too.

At some point, you just want to breathe without wondering what’s going to fall apart next.

The investigation is ongoing, and we’re not the only victims.

I’ve started a GoFundMe to help Lexi replace her DJ equipment and to also rebuild our audio systems we rely on to work.

If you can donate, share, or help spread the word, we’d be incredibly grateful. Thank you to everyone who’s already shown us kindness and support. ❤️

I’m f***ing ANGRY.

As a SA survivor, reading what happened at Cornell has ripped open a kind of rage in me that I don’t know how to put into words.

The trauma doesn’t just disappear. You carry it quietly for years. And then suddenly… you read another woman’s story and you’re RIGHT BACK inside your own hell.

A lot of that rage comes out in my screams. Screaming has become more than a vocal technique for me. It’s how I get some of this shit out of my body and how I’ve learned to survive it. Music has been the one place I can put all of the anger, grief, and trauma I don’t know what else to do with.

Writing the music I haven’t even released yet has genuinely saved my life.

I’m angry for every person who has had their safety, their body, and a piece of themselves taken from them.

For the men reading this (and I know some truly incredible men), I hope you’re the kind of man who steps in when something doesn’t feel right and listens when the women around you tell you they don’t feel safe.

Please listen to us. Believe us. Look out for us. Speak up when something isn’t right, even when we’re not in the room.

Help make this world a little safer for us, because we are fcking exhausted. Exhausted from being reminded how unsafe it can be, how easily our voices can be dismissed, and how small we can be made to feel in rooms we have every right to take up space in 🖤
