We still have a little colour in the garden, despite the heatwave and lack of water. A combination of washing up water, cooking water, cold tea (no milk or sugar obvs), stale water from Ziggy’s bowl when I refresh it for her and some tap water, all shared around frugally has kept these plants going. The larger plants and shrubs are fending for themselves for the most part but we are all hoping for rain. Anyone know any good rain dances?☔️💧🌧️🌂💃🕺 by @mel4acre

A happy and relaxed HuNan at her Care Home’s summer fête! She really enjoyed browsing the stalls, turning the tombola, listening to the singer and watching the bubble man create huge and tiny bubbles much to the delight of children and adults! She was transported back to her childhood and happy memories of summer fêtes and fairs long ago! by @mel4acre

Went to check on my plot in the community garden yesterday evening. I wasn’t expecting to bring much home as everything is so dry and parched, also there are big cracks in the grass paths between the plots! But look at this! Some beautiful shallots and garlic! Yay! And my rhubarb is still valiantly growing - rhubarb crumble on the cards sometime this week methinks😋. We need some rain ☔️☔️☔️ still though🤞 by @mel4acre

Yellow is my favourite colour. I can’t wear it (it does nothing for my pale complexion) 😊so instead many of the flowers that I grow in the garden are yellow. I think these dahlias and the rudbeckia tone beautifully with the greenish white of the hydrangea heads. Yellow does not have to be garish! by @mel4acre
