Young Woman-Machinal. Four years ago I saw a show that changed how I thought about theatre and what it could do. I knew I wanted to play the leading woman one day. Four years later, I’m making my 17-year-old self-who was told she could never be a leading lady and focused on all the wrong things-proud. Thank you to my family, friends, faculty, cast, and most importantly, to my incredible director Cara for trusting me with her project. Shakespeare & Company Summer Shakespeare Intensive 2025 with @shakeandcoactortraining. These 4 weeks were nothing short of life-changing. Thank you for the opportunity to fail, learn, and grow in this incredible place with such lovely humans to support me. The biggest thank you to every faculty member who helped me along my journey with compassion, wisdom, and kindness (and never judged my excessive tissue usage). And thank you to this amazing cohort of actors who made me happily want to spend 13 hours a day doing Shakespeare :). I have never felt more confused and frustrated but also I’ve never felt so free, unlimited, and inspired. I am eternally grateful for this gift of time, exploration, and knowledge.
