No words will ever describe how grateful I am for this community and for God giving me this platform. Sometimes it’s so easy for me to forget what the journey looked like to get here and when I look back on this year, all I can say is thank you. Thank you for believing in me when it was hard to believe in myself. Truly grateful for every obstacle that this year brought me. And if there’s anything to take away from my journey, it’s to not give up and to know that it is okay to start over at anytime. Life is truly what you make of it and that is something I’m still learning as I navigate my 20s.

Thank you for being here 🄹

Want to start a content series but have no idea where to begin? Here’s exactly how I’d do it!

Seven months ago I set a goal to hit $100K through content creation, and it started with launching my own series. So let me walk you through a real example, let’s call her Laney!!

Context: Laney’s 31, a software engineer in Boston. She wants to travel to Rome but doesn’t have the extra income for it, so she starts exploring UGC as a way to build an additional income stream.

Here’s what I’d tell her (and you):

1. Your series doesn’t need to be original. Plenty of creators have done a ā€œmaking money through contentā€ series. What makes it yours is the positioning, Laney starting from zero as a software engineer, never filmed a video before, that’s her angle.

2. Attach an outcome. ā€œCan I make $5K in 6 months through UGC to fund a trip to Rome without touching my paycheck?ā€ Now there’s a number, a timeline, something at stake. That’s what makes people come back week after week.

3. Have an actual strategy with your series
Your series doesn’t need to be original, but it does need an outcome (to bring engagement) and a strategy behind it (to attract brands)

If you’re thinking about starting your own series, lmk what it’s about!!

I didn’t grow up learning how to be financially literate. Even in my early 20s, I didn’t know what a credit card was lol.

So every habit on this list I had to learn the hard way, so I’m sharing all of it here so you don’t have to!!

A few of my non-negotiables: automating my savings so I never touch it, setting aside 30% for taxes every time I get paid, maxing out my Roth IRA before opening a brokerage account, and being financially aware of where my money is going (no judgment).

Save this and send it to someone who needs to see it 🫶
Which number are you already doing? I wanna know in the comments!

how to make branded content sound organic (not like a commercial) šŸ‘€

after working with 60+ brands, I’ve learned a lot about learning how to position and market a product without sounding like a commercial. This goes for both UGC and influencer partnerships!

so for example, instead of ā€œtoday I’m partnering with...ā€ try ā€œokay so this happened this morning...ā€ the product shows up mid-story, never as the opener.

same goes for how you describe it. don’t explain the product like a brochure, instead describe it like you’re texting a friend. specific details are what make branded content feel more authentic.

I’m curious to know, what’s the hardest part of making branded content feel organic for you? tell me below šŸ‘‡

If people are watching your series but not coming back… it’s usually one of these 3 things šŸ‘€

I started a series documenting my journey to $100K through content creation and hit that goal in 7 months. People didn’t keep coming back because of luck. They came back because every video had these 3 things:
1. VALUE: don’t just document, teach. While sharing my income journey, I also dropped mindset shifts, UGC examples, and ways to make money online in between episodes. Give people something to take with them.
2. YOUR PERSONALITY: there are a million content creators posting tips. Nobody can compete with the way YOU show up. Your humor, your energy, your honesty, that’s what turns viewers into followers.
3. A FEELING: treat your series like a TV show. Every episode should leave people inspired, educated, or curious enough to come back for the next one. Storytelling > announcements, always.
Value + personality + a feeling = a series people binge

5 content mistakes that are keeping you stuck as a creator šŸ‘‡

1. Your content is too me focused (a day in my life isn’t gonna make someone wanna watch if there’s no value to take away from it). Documenting your journey =Ģø talking about yourself. Every post should give your viewer a takeaway.

2. You’re not integrating brands organically. Featuring the tools and products already in your life is how brand deals find YOU. Show brands what their product looks like in your world :)

3. You’re chasing viral instead of value. A million views nobody saves does nothing for your creator business. Value builds trust and trust builds an audience that buys!

4. You’re doomscrolling for ā€œinspiration.ā€ Inspiration without execution is procrastination. Close the app and film something today. šŸ‘

5. You’re comparing chapter 1 of your journey to someone else’s chapter 10. My YouTube took 3 years to hit 10K - 3 years!!

If you found this help, save this one so you can come back to it 🫶

And if you want me to personally look at your account and tell you exactly what I’d change, comment ā€œAUDITā€ below and I’ll send you the details šŸ™

Here’s what I realize the difference between a $1k creator and a $10k creator

I stayed stuck at $1k months longer than I should have because I thought more content = more creator income.

But I was wrong.

What really scaled me from $1k to $10k months were the following: šŸ‘‡
- Focusing on one income stream BUT building it strategically (I chose to go all in with UGC, but because my videos on this platform actually got engagement, influencer brands also reached out… which led to more income streams)
- Don’t wait for brands to reach out. $10k creators are building a personal brand, but also pitching and constantly refining their content to position themselves better.
- Have a content strategy built around what your audience is actually searching for
- Stop chasing virality and focus on building trust
- Have a business mindset, I used to treat everything like a side hustle, but I realize if you really want this to become your ft job, then you gotta treat it like one šŸ’Ŗ

here’s how I grew from 0 to 50k followers in one year šŸ‘‡

1. Started a series (but how you make people follow is by sharing 1 valuable thing they can take away from - ex: how you pitch to brands, what keeps you organized as a mom, biggest lesson you learned from working in corporate)
2. Got vulnerable (and people really resonated)
3. Posted consistently (this is pretty obvious but choose a schedule that makes sense for you and isn’t gonna make you burnout)

This wasn’t overnight btw, my growth was slowww in the beginning and I kept posting everyday even though I wasn’t making a single dollar from this platform and didn’t know if the time and energy spent was gonna pay off.

That’s why doing content creation isn’t for the weak lol. You gotta be a little delusional to be putting in hours of work, not knowing what’s gonna happen.

All that to say, keep posting the content. Keep believing in your goals. I believe in you!!
